Did he get blown off the bike by the wind?

Reminds me of a Hell’s Angel I saw at Fremont drag strip. His bike was one of the rattiest Harley’s I ever saw. But it was very fast. And he was running nitrous as well. He got into a horrible speed wobble half way down the track but rode through it. After he passed the finish line, doing a bit over 165, he cut the throttle and immediately experienced another speed wobble. He was spit off the bike, still doing about 150, and tumbled and slid down the track until he came to a stop. His bike was a complete wreck. But he walked away.

Yea. Lucky man.

Perhaps it was his huge, bushy beard sticking out from under his Simpson helmet that helped save him. He wasn’t wearing good gear.

I blame complacency.
He looked too comfortable on the bike.
It seemed to have begun with him taking his left hand off the bars in celebration.
It truly looks like he forgot he was going that fast.
A seasoned veteran making a rookie mistake, IMO.
