Let's talk about Tom Cruise's teeth...

I LOVE Quentin T..

Thank you

:rofl never seen that before

He has a single central upper incisor instead of the usual 2. It could be a very mild form of holoprosencephaly.

You're kidding, right? :wow

The Grossman character was based on the movie's actual producer and friend to Ben Stiller and Tom Cruise, Stuart Cornfeld, who recently passed away.

One of Cornfeld's most famous acting roles came as Judge Reinhold's boss in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High".

Nope. Was expecting him to pop into the scene at some point and when he didn’t I assumed some misleading post joke.

The medical term for his situation is Midline Misalignment, aka Midline Discrepancy and Deviated Midline.
It was probably caused by the loss of the upper bicuspid #12 when he was very young and the rest of his teeth moved over to fill the gap.

They pulled 4 of my teeth before I started orthodontia.
The teeth pulled were the pairs that matched on the top and bottom just behind the eye teeth.
By the end there were no gaps anywhere.

If Tom lost one tooth on one side and they didn't pull the mirror image tooth on the other side, I can see how this might have happened.
He has had braces and the right front incisor is definitely capped/crowned.

:teeth

If you haven't yet, you should watch Edge of Tomorrow. Aside from it being a fantastic piece of Sci-Fi (and maybe Bill Paxton's best role ever) It's great if you Love Tom Cruise (he's the lead actor) and it's great if you hate Tom Cruise (you get to see him die. a lot. and in really violent ways.)

Also, Emily Blunt. :love

I did see that. It was fantastic. Emily Blunt is a true badass in that movie. :thumbup

Bill Paxton has about 15 better roles. The movie is decent though.

I heard some of his teeth refused to abide by Scientology teachings and were shunned until they left his mouth.

Mad

Whatever it is he's doing, eating babies, he looks amazing for his age.

I have to admit that he does look good for 58. Fucker. He definitely has had hair transplants. I’m sure he is on a very good skin regimen. And he certainly has personal cooks, dieticians, etc. Fucker.

I actually noticed his teeth in Days of Thunder but forgot until now.

I have actually never seen Top Gun.

Never.

There, I said it.

*flame suit on*

I highly respect him as an actor/stuntman and he has made dozens of decent to excellent movies. Is he crazy? Probably. But it doesn't affect me.

I had a revelation while attending Class Motorcycle School.

People like Tom Cruise make a fortune pretending to be people like Reg Pridmore. :thumbup

Actors get paid for pretending to be someone they're not?

It's a dumb, fun movie. The remarkable thing about it, as I'm sure you've probably heard dozens of times is that it was all filmed with live action and real jets. If you didn't grow up obsessed with fighter planes like I was, there's not much there.

Well there's the rub. I did grow up being as a huge fan of planes. Somehow I just never got around to Top Gun. Even when it was on TV just flipping channels. Something about it didn't click.
