The issue with testing is that, from my understanding, you can't really test until the 4th or 5th day. Meanwhile, you can start feeling symptoms on the 3rd or 4th day. From what they say, you can be contagious 2 days before you feel symptoms. On top of that, if you use a rapid test, it is only 85% accurate and the other kind takes longer to get a result.

Adding all of that up, unless I'm way off base with the information, you could be contagious a day or two before you test positive.

Anybody else want to weigh in on this?

I can give a real world example. Significant other tested negative last Thur with Rapid Test, she got a PCR test the next day through her work. She got the PCR results mid morning today, positive. So she's been teaching Fri,Mon, Tue and this morning while infected. My rapid tests have all been negative, including the one I just took, but I feel way worse than she does.:(

I'm vaccinated and boosted but quit my job because I didn't think the boss was taking it seriously. Arguments at work devolved to the boss telling me to shut up about it so I said bye bye.

We don’t have a requirement at work to be vaccinated, it’s not even asked if you are or not.
However we do need to sign in every day stating we have no flu like symptoms plus a few other related questions. Plus we have to wear masks.

Im vaccinated so not stressing it too much.

Shouldn't they be asking about cold-like symptoms now with Omicron being the dominant strain at this time?

Personally, I think this strain coupled with the realities of people's habits and mis-match of the effectiveness (or lack of) testing in keeping it from spreading have brought us to the point where we aren't going to stop it, I think that all school kids are going to get exposed. That doesn't mean we want to let it spread as fast as possible. Masks, indoors, and keeping your distance should be practiced to slow it down a bit so that it doesn't overwhelm the hospitals, but we aren't going to keep this one from exposing all except those on total lockdown, IMHO.

If you're not vaccinated, by now, and could have been, then what happens to you is on you and of your own free will.
