The Rescue Bike (ATK build)

Nice find, nice rebuild, nice thread, (nice sticker!:laughing) :thumbup
And you actually ride it too.:party Woot for Gwynne!

P.s. Thanks so much for letting me babaysit your Thumper while you focused on the ATKs. It was a blast!

Funny thing, The ATK project has given me enough confidence to strip down the lttle XT and clean that loyal little pony in all of its scary places :thumbup

Today, I pulled the seat off the ATK and brought it to Tony in the Sunset, to shave and recover. I get to pick it up Friday :banana

Although the bike is running and pretty much finished I need to summarize the project, post certain specs, and more pictures.

Nemo, you were a large part of why that bike was running :hail

I had the seat radically shaved and recovered.
BARF's very own "Lunch_Box" picked the seat up for me and sent me a text "Seat looks AWESOME"

I was expecting a cheapy job since I only paid $150 for the new foam, shaping, and cover. What I got was same day service, a professionally sewn cover, and a shape that makes it obvious that Toni rides has ridden.

Motorcycle Upholstery located in the Outer Sunset did the work. I would HIGHLY recommend this shop
Tony (415) 531-2917

Looks like a trials bike now :laughing but short girl is short

That bike looks so cool... I want one!! :drool

FTFY :thumbup

My boss just bought a '99 :party

:laughing point taken. I do want one...

I tried getting on a CRF250 and it was soooooo tall I could barely get on, a seat height of almost 35 inches is just too much... what's the new seat height after all the mods?

Hoho, you just need to gain weight. If you're fat like I am, almost any bike is low enough to reach the ground. :laughing

When it's sitting there with no one sitting on it I'm going to guess around 34"

With sag set and my zaftig a** it drops to about 32ish I'm guessing. I'm solidly on the balls of my feet :thumbup

Looks great, makes my boys hurt thinking about the bumps you don't see soon enough to stand up for...
:twofinger

Yep, I'm hoping the gel does the job. I think after riding it and getting used to the bike I'll be able to add an inch back into the seat but for now this sort of keeps the confidence going. It isn't as flat as it looks in the picture.

WoodsChick dibbed rides on the first page I think :laughing
Erin you're next. I'm guessing with the seat shaved that Alex may be just to big for this bike lol

My boss picked one up on Saturday that looks brand new-I have an awful lot of work still to do :cry
