This is the part I most definitely DO NOT want to skip. I would like to hear from the instructors who were there during these hours to see how they felt about your choices. The harshest critics in my head are saying, "This candidate for a Dunning Kruger award put everyone on the track in unnecessary danger by being somewhere he had no business being. What made this person feel like that was the right thing to do?"
It sounds like you got away with it. Cool. I'm still not seeing it a a glorious triumph of your bad-assery. I think you got lucky. I'm glad it worked out. I don't think you should put yourself in dangerous situations you are not prepared for regularly.
