I'm wondering if you're meaning silicon brazing? If so the temperature would be way too hot for the 22 gauge steel. Soldering only requires about 400°. And that's what the factory did. Although in the later years 52 or so they did go to silver solder which requires a higher temperature about a 1000°.I've done my share of tinning and soldering; but I wonder, why not braze the joints with 15% sil-phos?
