Update: Leaving Fri. 7/25

I'm heading out for a ride and anyone is welcome to join me for all or part of the ride. I'm somewhat flexible on the date, so let me know if you want to ride. I have no set schedule or timeline for this ride. If I get no takers, I'll just leave whenever I feel like it.

I expect it to look something like this. Maybe not as gnarly, but there will be dirt. The route plan is tentative and will change depending on what roads end up looking interesting when I get there. The basic route will stay the same. I'll be camping along the way with an occasional hotel.

Hwy 1 up to the Lost Coast and then a day or two of exploring the roads up there.

Over to Hwy 36 and maybe some loops off of 36. Thru Redbluff and on to Lassen via Hogback Ridge.

A couple of days at Lassen hiking and riding the area. And then down thru the Sierras to Tahoe.

Did I scare everyone away yet? :devil

Nope, haven't scared me away... Yet. Probably won't be able to take the time off to do the whole thing, but I would be able to make time for part(s) of the ride though. Like the Grass Valley -> Tahoe part for instance. I'll gladly pass on that long 395 segment for sure.

Friday PM -> Sunday. Or Tuesday PM -> Wed eve. Prefer a roof over my head at night because I only have a backpack and the small tailbag I had during Norcal III. Not a lot of room for tent, sleeping bag, and a change of clothes.

once again - stop by if you go thru SLT!
good luck and have fun!

what's up with this shizz??? did u go lone ranger? if not i'd like to try and make the last chunk of this first day and join up around albion or wherever it is that 128 ends at the coast...then sorta play it by ear after there. i don't have gps... are there any maps you recommend?

I haven't left yet. Trying to sort out a schedule with a couple of people.

The benchmark maps are good. Most of the roads are well marked on the map, but the plan may change if something looks interesting when I get there.

cool. might get my old man to join up. about the dirt part... would knobbies be prerequisite to not cussing the bike, the ride leader, and everything in general?

hmmmm. sounds like i might just run my pilot powers and be headmaster of sliding panic stops in the dirt sections.

This ride looks crazy fun.

:shakesfist: when I get my drz :shakesfist:

Knobbies not required. I'll be running a 50/50 tire. Pilot Powers should be fine for most of it, but I've never been on these roads before...

I asked my Daytona, and she said ":twofinger Luckett" lol. I don't think she's down for this one lol. I'll wait for the DRZ.

I'm firming up my plans for this ride and I'll be leaving Fri. 7/25. I'm going to try to be in the tahoe area the following weekend if anyone wants to join up with me there.

nice. looks like i'm in. maybe i'll have time to invent my super secret bead breaker by then. you know... just in case of screwdrivers on the trail.:wtf

that looks like a really good one... are the alien vampire hookers still in zenia,.. on 36...

but alas, tires are backordered and without a cat sitter available for that weekend.. :rolleyes.. puts me in an indefinite space.

Made the same mistake looking at his map. He is not hitting 395 but taking the goat trails down along side of it.
