I think officially it is CMP, " County Motorcycle Park"... of the Santa Clara Park system.
I love it long time. Since the 70's. Yeah, I'm old.

Do you want a new motocross track, one a mile long and professionally built by dudes who design current MX events... http://www.dirtwurx.com

We need your support if you care. Do you?

Metcalf would be solid with a real MX track.
Trails are nice but the MX kids of the South Bay need a practice place.

Butch, is action needed to continue to push this through?

Construction is on schedule and under budget, completion this Sunday. The new track is scheduled to open next Thursday October 3. I’ll be there to get first tracks.

Maybe. Certainly Friday, assuming the weather continues its loveliness.

Right on!

Hmm I might head out to Metcalf this week to practice for the Sprint Enduro might as well check out that new track it will probably be one of the tests.

Not gonna open this week...

Cool to hear Metcalf did this. Need to spin some laps come December when I can legally ride my 2-smoke.

A really cool vid includes onboard footage of a talented rider on track. Not a drone flying over with music overlaid. Track looks good though. Always fun to have another option.

From their website it looks like a spark arrestor may be required? If so then obviously we're out. Oh well. Maybe like Hangtown they'll have an exception for the MX bikes on the MX track? We can only hope. Too long of a drive for me anyway but I'm sure the locals would like to ride there.

Yes and no and maybe.
Brian does private events on the track that might not need a sparky. Ask him. Prolly wont be one for a while though...

Thanks Butch for the heads up...
Drove to the track and watered for a couple hours today...
Track looks amazing.

I’ll be there tomorrow

So how is the track? Is it loaded with death jumps like Hollister, mellower like Carnegie or even more mellow?
