Realistically whether people believe in climate change or not very few are going to quit the gig that's putting bread on the table even when knowing that gig is contributing.
We're wired only for short term survival. Longer term views are an anomaly within our species.

No it’s essentiallt because you CANT quit the gig, that’s the problem. There’s effectively no way to avoid it and participate in society in even cursory ways

The issue is WAY more than just individuals making choices. It’s s systemic issue primarily led by a small number of people/corps focused on controlling on that “bread” is created to begin with

I recommended the documentary, "The century of the self" to a coworker awhile back. Today he mentioned that he saw it, and now knows who to kill when he gains access to a time machine. I think the first part of the doc (linked below) is relevant to the topic of this thread, it talks about Edward Bernays, "the father of public relations".
