You guys missed out on the fun this week. There was like half the cars out and it really wasn't that hot also. Made for a nice evening that's for sure. I brought my DR650 to see how it does and it did great surprisingly. I arrived really late so I missed the first practice run. I got 2 in ran a 17 and 15.9 the second pass. I don't know how I nearly went 2 seconds faster but I just dailed in 15.9 and I beat Matt in the Z900 on the first round was a great race really close. I ran like a 15.97.

I went up against Tyler in the Ninja the next round and I broke out. I dialed in a 15.90 against and ran a 15.86 pretty close race again.

Tyler winds up winning that night too! We were finished before the sun came down. Definitely was an improvement over last week.

Will have vids up, I might just make my DR a drag bike

Haha nah it was easy to launch the DR. It did wheelie it's got a decent amount of torque but the CactusPuncher only has like 30HP (dyno verified) so the front will come up a little and go back down then it'll hit the powerband and come up a little again then just go back down.

I also have a trailtech vapor tachometer on this bike and I it has shift lights on it. First time I used a shift light and man it's soooo easy to tell when to shift. I like it :)

Just a heads-up guys. The track is increasing their prices effective this week. :mad
Drag Race: $35
High School race: $25
Crew/Spectator: $15
I hate to be the one with bad news but didn't want you guys to get caught by surprise and hope to soften the blow.
The good news is the pricing hasn't increased in a long time and we still have a local track to go to. :ride

Wow, wonder how they do that in the MIDDLE of the season...Almost seems like they are trying to push the drag racers away. I understand a price increase, just in the middle of the season seems a bit "shady". Not to mention them overbooking the road course a few weeks ago into the start of the scheduled drag time 4pm, as we all sat in line waiting to get into the pits a extra hour late. I'm even ok with that, as long as they gave a heads up the day before so we all would not be just sitting there.

Yes Joe.
You are not the only one thinking what you're thinking about how the drag racers are treated. I can't say any more without having to take it to PMs.
And yes again, the loss of Kyle hurts nationally and even more so locally. The corporate side of that track is one thing but the people in the black shirts making things happen are a tight knit group. The news hit my daughter pretty hard, as expected.

Results from 6-23-21.

After going 5 grueling rounds I got my first win of the year! We had a decent headwind all day/night long. I knocked off points leader and defending track champion Doug Love in the second round and then in the finals I beat Tyler Christle, currently second in points. This was the first time we have had the 2 quickest bikes make it to the finals. It has was going down the track almost side by side the whole way. I dialed a 9.30 and ran a 9.311. Tyler dialed a 9.50 and broke out going 9.496. My reaction times were way off so in eliminations I started Deep staging and things went great from there. I had a .018, .019 and .023 reaction times which made things much easier. Merlin made it to the Semi finals on a Gas powered bike for a change, giving his electric bikes a rest. Hopefully he will chime in with some pictures or video. Next Wednesday is the next race, hope to see some of you there.
