I won the "Wife Lottery", my Wife is super cool and prefers my cooking, to going out to any restaurant. So, I just came back from Costco getting Lobster Tails and Ribeye Steaks. My Wife is doing Keto, so no veggies or carbs (for her). I sent her flowers (to her Job) earlier this week, while the prices were lower (wink wink). So, hopefully Mama will be happy, and not smother me in my sleep.

What are your plans?

Gonna treat the S/O to a tattoo and brunch on Friday after her job interview and then she's off that night to dog and cat and apartment sit at a friends though Saturday so I'll be living that bachelor life this weekend.

Mine loves motorcycle racing so she's "making" me take her to the indoor races in Santa Rosa on Saturday..
I won the lottery too.

We'll curl up on the couch and watch tv with our dogs tomorrow.
Good stuff.

Like Lefty I also won the wife lottery 47 years ago. See my avatar, third trip through the Alps. My wife is a great cook and we will be having homemade chicken pot pie, comfort food for the weather. I got flowers yesterday and beat the rush.

Taking my date to a dinner and comedy show here in Turlock. Seems like a fun time, it's called offline comedy and when you go to their shows they usually ask you to turn off your phone or check-in your phone to keep the distractions at a minimum and keep the events intimate. Fun times!

After enduring a drama dame for a year plus, I too hit the wife Lotto on my second chance.

Told her when we were dating, I not driven by the Hallmark calendar nor convention. She'd tell anyone I am the romanticist of our pairing. That's true but she's the lowest 'maintenance' woman on the planet.

Nothing tomorrow. Mrs Abacinator and I are going to try and get a table at the Sailing Goat on Saturday.

All I will be doing is remembering my lovely wife as she was before Alzheimer’s took her down.

a good friend of mine lost his wife this past weekend (after an eight month long battle with cancer). he’s not ready to talk yet, but i’ll be there for him when he is. he won’t be alone. hope you have similar. i’ll be thinking of you tomorrow, and hoping your wonderful memories of her are bringing you peace and comfort.

After almost fifty years of ritualistic St. Valentine's Day cards, gifts, events, dinners I lost my wife to leukemia on Valentine's day one year ago. Every year now, forever, the pain of loss on Valentine's will be intense for me.

I wish the very same for each of you pairs of lovers out there.

May the pain be as real for you as it is for me. If the pain were twice as intense, I'd still do every day of those fifty years over again, it was that good. May your path be as painful and good as mine was for me.

Thank you all for your thoughts. She died a bit over three years ago. And I did have friends and family to lean on. But the reality is that when going through something like this, you realize that you still have to go through it alone. Similar to dying yourself. Ultimately the journey is yours alone.

Man!!!! I'm so sorry for your loss.

I could not imagine what you are going through. I'm so sorry.

I'll stop at CVS and pick up a mushy card and prepare her a nice dinner tonight. Tomorrow we're going to hang out at home while I run the smoker. 2 full racks of St Louis style ribs, a pork loin and a couple of tritips. If I get lucky, maybe we'll take a "nap" in the afternoon. Tomorrow night we'll go see Jason Moran perform Duke Ellington at the Green Music Center.

My plans are complete. Roses left in the kitchen this AM and roses turned off here today.
Not a fan of the Hallmark illusion.
