I don't think I would have kept riding. The risk of bleeding out is too great.

Hate those anti-lanesplitting lugnuts.

Surprised to see the damage. I thought those were mostly plastic covers.

In case bloody toes aren't your thing

Oh fuck... That's gnarly

I've only seen the cheap plastic nut caps. If they were really steel, are they locked to the nut with a screw or something? I would be afraid of the damage that one of those could do of it flew off when traveling down the freeway.

And things like that are why we wear motorcycle boots.

If you touch, you lost the game. This player's armor class was too low to survive the contact without injury. He's a dork, splitting in the wrong lane to begin with, but far too closely, and too fast at times.

I've got lug spikes on Elvira and if you're close enough to touch 'em you're a wheel thief or crashing into her.

+1 on "I thought most of those were just plastic covers"- I won't make that assumption going forward.

Dude was hurting.
Yup... but didn't pull over to immediately triage, nor did he ride to a medical center, etc. Armchair quarterbacking, sure, but sometimes dumb hurts, and that's experience speaking.

Mine use a super-deep lug socket and have a lug base. I'd assume these are the same.

If you see something that may hurt you, don't hit it.
For the life of me, I can't figure out why these doofus's post videos of their poor riding.

I just watched the video again. The rider is an idiot.
I could have predicted that before watching the first 15 seconds of the video - which has all of the important stuff, thankfully. If you're close enough to a big truck that your foot contacts the lugnuts sticking out an extra four inches, you're too close, and he definitely was.

If that guy continues to ride like that, this won't be the last incedent where he gets hurt.

LoL

I just looked it up and it appears you can get solid SS lug nuts up to 8" long with the special socket.

We need to nip this in the bud before there's any more surprises...

Those spike rotation onto the foot and foot peg lowered the bikes right side, caused it to swerve … little more swerve, and he would’ve been under the rear wheels.
