The last few years I’ve treated myself to a trackday around my birthday. Just one and on a rented bike. As the years go by and I realize there are only so many left that I’ll have this urge, I find myself feeling like I want to just buy a trackday bike and ride 4-5 a season until I don’t feel like doing it anymore. Medicare has me covered, so I figure “why not?”

I do find myself questioning my judgement, though, so wondering whether we have anyone here that is or was doing trackdays into their 60s or beyond. Would love to hear your thoughts about doing them at this stage in our lives.

I'll be 69 at the end of the month and been riding track for the last 23 years. Still having fun...no end in sight. Oh....I've NEVER been injured on a trackday, but lots of injuries riding street and dirt over the years (still do that too!)

Different age bracket here (54) but I hope to be riding off road and track for many more years. I'm 25 minutes from Sears Point and I love that track, so it would be a shame not to indulge. !Viva old heads at the track!

I love the place but the pricing is rediculous.

On my list. It’s been a few years

Older and wiser is a great way to be when spinning laps! Just turned 61 and riding better than ever.

Last Monday was Sonoma, and just got back from Buttonwillow where I got to ride the new "Circuit".

Now I'll wipe all the damn bugs off and get ready for Sonoma on 4/20, and again on 5/11. Then the season really gets going!

At this point when it comes to anything you think you might wanna do, the question is, "If not now...when???"

DO IT!!! :ride 🏁:Port

64 and about to be 65.
No sign of slowing just yet.
I really don't wanna have to change my screen name. :laughing

64 last November, just signed up for 4/20 at Sears Pt, novice group. Since 9/11/23 I've done 8 trackdaze on the little Zed400, I think it helps keep me a little sharper on the street.

In my 50’s and still enjoying it. I’ve wondered for how long though.

Same with skiing. Do a multi day trip out of state or country, every other year. Next year - Tahoe. Following year - Colorado.

Kirkwood yesterday. Last day of the season for me.

Once they put me on anti coagulation meds,.
I kind of got nervous about balls out track stuff.
I last did 2 days at Buttonwillow 9 years ago. Then developed cardio issues that led to those meds.

I' suppose street riding is kind of more risky in reality than backroads/street but bleeding out from a moderate bump sounds unpleasant.
I have only had a couple of slidey get offs but tend to ride closer to my edge on track.
I kind of wish I was closer to 20 than 75....with 50 years of riding ahead of me, instead of behind.

Doc took me off Plavix after 1 year. Still take a baby aspirin daily though. I feel great again after 3 stents.

Sorry to hear your story about that. OTOH, I greatly appreciate your sharing it here because this is exactly the kind of perspective I need to help me pull the trigger on getting back into it more. If not now, when? And one day the door will close for good and I’ll have lots of time to regret what I didn’t do.

I was just about 65 years old , so I didn't get cheated out of anything. :)
I may get taken off those anticoagulant drugs now that my medical situation is getting sorted.

Just think, I could set new lap records in the Geezer class.
" look out for that guy, he got nothing to lose!"

I was 68 when @TWT made me go to some track near Monterrey. Feel Like a Pro provided a Ninja 400 and I was off to the pretend races. Smile every time I think about that mental masturbation. I’d be tempted by a rental cause I’d be heartbroken if I damaged my CBR.
