We've seen the signs: "Patrolled by Aircraft" Well here is proof.

Yesterday (8/16/26) on Eastbound 580 and 205 the big info signs had "Drive 100, Loose Your License".
Traffic flow through that area was 70 - 80+mph. If you were in lane #2 at 75 you were getting passed on both sides.

I've occasionally seen a plane flying kinda low in an otherwise remote area and started wondering if I was gonna get to have a meet and greet. I guess my riding style doesn't quite rise to the level of all hands on deck though. That riders certainly did! :laughing I saw the story on the book face and I believe they did in fact arrest the rider.

Well, I'm glad my personal era of DY passes is long over. :laughing

IMHO the fun on 9 stopped when the stop sigh went up around big basin. We probably shouldn't be surprised the shenanigans are being heavily policed.

I wrote a song for that called Taking Chances. I still subscribe to in certain conditions the DY is suggested like speed signs in corners. :teeth

Yeah. 9 is not the place it once was and it was never really a safe place to ride like ya stole it.
Compared to the 70's it has 10 times the traffic population I would guess.

I think most AMBER alert signs show the same message unless there's a geographically targeted issue.

And if cited over 100, you do not get to face a judge like if you were only going 99, it's automatic through the DMV, is my understanding.

Try that "I was only going 99 Your Honor!" with a judge :)

Seriously, that guy SHOULD be cuffed and arrested - stupid fast in some pretty stupid places.

I was just commenting on the use of the AMBER signs (America's Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response) and that the new speeding policy is not handled the same as other very similar traffic violations as was pointed out.

The DMV can suspend or revoke driving privileges right away, bypassing the slow timeline of traditional court-ordered penalties.

Why not implement this sort of streamlined justice administration more consistently? The three leading causes of traffic fatalities alongside speeding are driving under the influence (DUI), distracted driving, and a lack of seat belt use. Why involve the court system for these violations? I'm sure the DMV is well qualified to do a good job there too.

I'm sure there are other areas where similarly streamlined policies could be implemented to offload from the courts.

I always thought that "360-degree awareness" included looking overhead before doing anything like that. I always took those signs seriously.

I have noticed helicopters around Redwood road and adjusted speed accordingly. The drone thing makes it much harder to notice.

What do all aircraft have to do when flying.... - Oh yea have a transponder on with registration....

Maybe check the following sites for anything up in the air near where you are about to ride.... briskly....

I promise its not that hard with the right digital tools applied...

I have only been up around Alice‘s on the weekend a few times in the past years. It’s a madhouse. Crazies right and left. It’s like shooting fish in a barrel for law-enforcement.
