This bike is very well built; most of the work was done by Sonny (Fawndog). He's dynoed the motor at 59rwhp. It is very light and flickable, easy to ride.

JE high comp pistons
Head ported
Kibblewhite shim under bucket retrofit (it takes normal-sized shims now)
Megacycle full race cams
Keihn CR special carbs
Yoshimura headers, Kerker titanium mid pipe and can.
Timing advance

Three hours on a valve adjust, zero hours on oil change

The frame is a 92.
Custom rearsets
Custom titanium subframe
91 GSXR swingarm (wheel is Marvic Mg 5.5 for a FZR1000, PM rear brake)
2001 GSXR triples and forks (Stock 3.5 GSXR 320mm rotors)
Fox remote-reservoir fully adjustable shock
520 chain
WP adjustable steering damper
CRG adjustable brake lever
Tech-spec tank pads
Fully drilled for safety wire
Billet aluminum timing cover with replaceable center
Pirelli slicks

Dave Moss of CRT set up the suspension for my weight and did a full service on the Fox rear shock.

Already been sending PM's long before this post:teeth Beth thinks the 500 is going to be to much bike for her to start on so she really wants a 250. we are looking at a couple of VTR 250's right now:thumbup
 
This is a proper track bike - with proper suspension and brakes, proper track ergos and enough motor to not get run over in the C group. Far better learning tool than any Proddy 250 I've ever seen.

It's barely heavier than a 250 and has A LOT more room to grow into than any 4 stroke 250.

oh no, it's been around way before that bike came out. Other than Sunny beating it with an ugly stick this bike is great.
 
As Mick-e said, she's ugly until you take her clothes off.

This was the first set of body work and different front end.

Yeah, this bike has been around the AFM for awhile. Everyone that has owned it, has fun stories about their time on it.:teeth One of my favorite bikes. :ride

I happened to bump into this forum because I wanted to know what might have happened to the GS500 that I built for Jody Matsler here in Sacto. Many years ago. That is my logo or whats left of it on the swingarm. The engine originally was a 500 twin, I put on GSXR front forks and swing arm and Marvic Wheels. The rear disk was from a KawKX80.

Man talk about memories. The first two with out the lowers were when I first mounted the wheels. The last shot full fairing as it was when it was race ready.
