OP in some chimp tribes the females are dominate and your status in the tribe depends on how old the female is. :teeth The older the female the more status you have. So maybe cougars are on to something :teeth

One thing I found interesting about this chimp phenomenon is that it is a long-term deal, not just a "one nighter."

I wonder if the female chimps see this purely as a "sex for food" trade, or if there is some evolutionary "This male can provide for me and my offspring" aspect.
