HD Heritage Softail -Screamin Eagle Stage 3 Kit
(Update after 4.5 Yrs) Just picked up a 03 Heritage Softail from Riders Choice,

Looking for the previous owner of this 2003 Heritage Softail I just bought from RidersChoice Motorcycle Warehouse in Sunnyvale

I just picked up this 2003 Heritage Softail Anniversary Edition with some sort of Screamin Eagle Kit. 13,200 Miles and a very distinctive “81 Support Crew” timing cover emblem. Im trying to see if I can locate the previous owner to find out what kind of oil he was using and what type of S.E. Kit does it have..? This ride has got lots of ponies and im enjoying my first Harley! Just want to ask a couple questions about the bike. Ps: Thanks for the bell.

Thanks

R.A.

Thats a good looking crusier. Love the white wall tires. Congrats on the purchase!

"and a very distinctive “81 Support Crew” timing cover emblem."

Unless I'm wrong that's in regards to the Hells Angels so you might not find the previous owner on barf. Can't you get the info from the place you bought the bike?

Nice bike btw, congrats.

Didnt think about that...

But was thinking the previous owner was just a friend of a HA and not in the club but who know... could be and you are correct probably wont be on here.
The Dealer wont give me any info on the seller for business reasons I think...just want to know what’s in this bike that’s making it so dam powerful and maybe someone can recognize the headers for me ??

Here's that emblem I was talking about:

Red & White, as well as 81, are Hells Angels calling cards.
Kind of like sporting a Support your local Hells Angels sticker, but better.

Maybe you can ask the dealer if he'll pass your number onto the seller?

Just purchased a $10 Sissy Bar from a Garage Sale!!

Great Idea Ant but the dealer was getting all weird about the previous owner so I was hoping to go my own direction to try to locate. Thanks to all for the the nice bike comments! I started riding last May and picked up my first bike then, a 2005 Honda Shadow Aero 750 (Picked up also from Riders Choice)
Joined a Harley club called the "Coastside Armada" about six months ago and didn’t get to much BS about the Honda but they kept asking me politly when I was getting a Harley LOL, good guys to ride with. As for the Angels... Ill support em as long as they don’t kick my arrsss! The old owner let me keep the emblem so out of respect... its staying. Just kills me not knowing much about the bike and "WACK" Thanks for sending over that link to the article..thats exactly what happened to me on my Honda Trade in lost $2000 on he deal and I overheard someone at the dealership mentioning that they talked the previous owner down a few bucks too. I thought I was getting a great deal (Which I’m sure I did) but cannot believe I let the Honda go for such a low price. At the end of the day still pinching myself when I go inside my garage and see this shiny arrrs bike! Those White walls are going to be a bitch to keep clean BTW. I get more looks and comments compared to my Shadow which is sad cuz the Shadow Aero is a lot of fun too. I use to get a lot of “Why are you trying to get your Honda to look like a Harley?” comments “Like I had something to do with the design. :rolleyes

PS: Don’t think I’m online during a day like this LOL I just got back from a 4 1/2 hr ride... Cheers all! :flag

I worked at a tire shop many moons ago,

SOS steel wool pads are all you need for them white walls. Lemon scented are my favorite!

badass bike man! I'm diggin the exhaust and color of bike.

Yeah me too! Im usualy a chrome nut but that bit of black does the job. This bike has a couple looks, with the bags, windshield and pass seat/sissy bar it looks like an old school cruiser from back in the day. With alll of that off...like a modern bike. I scored on the color, you dont see too many of the pearl blues out there. Wish I could tell you what the headers were?

The header is a Thunderheader, made in the East Bay. http://www.thunderheader.net/

Stage 3 is described below, make sure you have an oil cooler:

Many owners go farther with performance enhancements. In addition to the SE air cleaner/breather kit and mufflers mentioned above, Harley's "Stage I" 1450cc engine adds a SE/Mikuni 42mm flatside carburetor (replacing the stock 40mm CV carb) and a SE 6200 rpm performance ignition system (module plus coils) to the above performance enhancements. According to Harley's dyno tests, a Stage I motor produces about 81 ft-lbs. of torque and 71 hp at the rear wheel.

Farther down the performance trail is the 1450cc Stage II engine. This adds Screaming Eagle SE-203 cams and adjustable pushrods to the Stage I motor, and the result is about 88 ft-lbs. of torque and 73 hp at the rear wheel.

Beyond this level, it makes sense to take advantage of H-D's big bore 95 cu. in. (1550cc) pistons and cylinders. These are designed to work with the stock cylinder heads and valve train. Otherwise identical to the Stage II 1450cc engine above, a Stage II 1550cc engine with SE standard compression ratio (9.0:1) flat top cast pistons produces about 97 ft-lbs. of torque and 80 horsepower at the rear wheel.

The 1550cc Stage III engine is basically like the Stage II version, but uses SE high compression cast pistons (10.25:1) and a SE race (high compression) 6200 RPM ignition kit. This is good for about 100 ft-lbs. of torque and 81 horsepower at the rear wheel. There is no difference in the price of the pistons or ignition module, so it is purely up to the owner's discretion whether to build to Stage II or Stage III. Stage III requires the best grade of gasoline available, of course, usually 92 octane Super Unleaded. But then, Harley owners usually buy "Super" anyway.

And I wouldn`t worry about having a problem with the 81 support cover, as long as you don`t venture in a territory where folks there seriously do not.

Might be a good item to hang in your garage.:thumbup

I thought that if you sport a support sticker or anything like that you needed to be able to tell whoever asked where it came from..like what member gave it to ya..Or can you just pick them up at like the stores that sell there gear like the one in frisco????

Send a pm to "Teddy". Hes the finance manager at Faultline in Fremont. He might be able to help you out. Might be able to run the VIN through the service dept and see a past work order.....good luck :thumbup

Thanks for the details! That would explain the immense torque from the rear, could climb a tree with it. The oil looks a little dirty so im going with synthetic oil… I’m assuming at 13K miles that’s the way to go…just incase the previous owner used the regular stuff better make the switch while the motor is relatively young. As for the 81, its staying where it was placed.
