PRICE HAS BEEN LOWERED!!! For sale is my 1991 Honda CBR 400. This is a very rare street legal grey market bike with a plate. The CBR 400 was never imported into the US, so if you can find one you’re lucky. To find one for sale with a California license plate is almost unheard of these days. This bike is an exceptional example of this machine, however it is a 19 year old motorcycle, so it does have its share off nicks and blemishes. This bike is stock with a few exceptions. It has the “black” ignition box from HRC (race spec rev limiter ect). It has had the regulator/rectifier modification done(to keep it from melting). It has a Penske rear shock that has been recently serviced, resprung and revalved by Aftershocks. It currently has a 2007 CBR 1000 front end with radial mount brakes (sweetest upgrade ever!). I will also swap this front end for a 1995 RVF 400 front end (which is a considerable upgrade from a CBR 400 front end) and sell at a reduced price if necessary. Both front ends have recently been serviced, resprung and revalved by Aftershocks. New DID x-ring chain. The tank has recently been cleaned. The carburetors have just been completely gone through by Donny Babb at Modesto Ducati. This bike runs perfect. This bike is the most fun bike I have ever ridden. It handles like a 250 gp bike with almost the power of a 600. I’m only selling this one because I have to many 400’s. Not trying to bash, but I have owned and raced an NC29. They have no where near the power of a 600. Mine dynoed at 55 HP jetted, K&N and with a full exhaust.
 
I rode a CBR400 a few years ago.

man what a sweet bike! really is the way to go for the bay area unless you are going to be doing a lot of freeway. It was a little lacking on power for the freeway, but nor horrible. but damn around town it was PLENTY of power and i LOVED how light it was. Way more flickable than a 600cc

Your right I should change the part about "power like a 600". I guess my point was that its not as far off from the 600's of the era as someone who didn't know might think. Didn't mean to be misleading. This bike made 60 hp on the dyno. That being said, bring on your 600's!!! lol

That sucks to hear, but this damn economy isn't really scooping bikes up. From a fellow 400 fanatic - GLWS!
 
Good thing I'm not in a hurry! lol. Can you imagine if the oem's brought the 400's back with todays weight and hp numbers?! What a great bike they could build! I guess I will have to update the bodywork and tail section ect. like I did my rvf, make this one irresistible for buyers!
