After hearing about a fellow Barfers story of traveling to europe I was reminded of a once loved but forgotten food. THE KEBAB! I NEED TO FIND THE KEBAB! Please help me in my quest for finding KEBAB. Please help me.

If you're looking for a more Afghani type kabob, I like Chopan Kabob in Concord off Monument. Their chaplee kabob is one of the best I've had in the bay area, and I've had my fair share.

there are like ten kebab places in berkely, and two in unioncity. a few in fremont, one that i know of in newark.

Dude I've been looking for a decent doner kebab place in the Bay Area for a decade. I'm convinced they don't exist here. I ate doners all the time when I was stationed in Germany. It's been 10 years since I left but I can still taste it! That succulent meat, goat cheese, tzaziki sauce in a freshly-baked, nicely-toasted pita pocket, nicht tomaten, danke.

Closest I've come is the gyros at Yiassoo. It's close, but not quite there.

I had about 2 kebabs a week at Kebab World in Dee Why, NSW. Sooo delicious, and uber filling. Lamb w/ veggies and sweet sauce. I tried looking for a kebab shop around but the only places I tried that have doner kebabs were crap. They didn't roll or grill em.

Oh well.. I'll be back in Australia in 3 weeks
