My current gloves have seen enough wear to justify a new purchase. I have been eying the Phantoms for a while and even tried them on recently to see how they were. The quality was amazing! it literally felt like glove sex on my hand. However, I have seen many Barfers that swear by the H-20.. Not ever actually having tried them on I am looking for opinions on how people feel about each glove. The phantoms seem to have more abrasive resistant materials while the H-20 only have roo' leather and impact foam. Now I have read many of the cons/pro of having a softer impact area to spread the damage compared to a hard shell but it has left my on the edge of both. HALP!

I've worn both Helds and the H20's. Both great gloves, but I went back to the Helds and prefer them. The H20s were too bulky for me and just didn't give me the feel I want. And I found a pair of H20s that fit me perfectly.

I'm a huge Helimot fan, but, for me, the Helds are a better glove, though I'm not a fan of the hard shell version. Don't think you can go wrong with either one though.

One other point. I would never, ever buy a pair of Helds online. Their sizing can vary and you want to try them on in a store. Even two pairs of identically sized Helds will fit differently.
 
I've been wearing Held Phantoms for a little over two and a half years now. Overall I've been quite happy with them, however they're starting to show their flaws. The leather is stretching a lot and the velcro is starting to get pretty loose all over. I should probably send them in to get serviced soon.
 
Dident u almost lose ur bikes to the financing company? Before you blow it on gear sort your finances out.

I love my Held Phantoms. I've tried the H2O's on, but not ridden in them, but I agree that they feel more bulky than the Phantoms. I bought mine online at Sportbiketrackgear.com. I guess I got lucky on fitment, because mine fit perfectly. I've had them for two years, and they show no signs of wearing out any time soon. A little cleaning/conditioning with Lexol every now and then when they get too sweaty or rained on, and they're good to go.

Yeah, after owning both, I think the Galaxy was a superior held product. Even if it had plain-Jane carbon fiber abrasion panels instead of friggin' RAYSKIN.
 
No scaphoid protectors on the Helimots? No thanks, then.
 
i had to go with a semicustom helimot f108s (H20's summer brother) because no regular glove fits me (size small palm, size small finger diameter, size extra large finger length).

i love helimot but if other brands fit me better, i wouldnt hesitate to go with them, as long as i had kangaroo leather - gives me a better feeling of the grips.

At first the f108's felt bulky in the lower palms, but that extra padding was somewhat welcoming later on *shrug*

in the end, both hard and soft impact armor for either of the gloves will protect you, in my opinion, just the same. I have not read any negatives about both.

I just had the velcro repaired on my h2os while i waited. Try that with helds.
Though they fit better, my thumb wore through the Helds I had in less than a year. My Helimots have lasted over one year already, and after washing them in water and woolite, they seem to fit much better than they used to.
 
Not one of the options, but I looked at them all when my GP Tech's wore out and went with RS Taichi GP Evo gloves. Tested them and really like them.

You should find a place that sells Kushitani, their gloves would fit you based on what you described.
 
I have an old pair of Held gloves, I can't remember the model name but it was the precursor to the Akira, which has been great. I have never experienced a problem with them. These are the old school "stitched in Germany" gloves.

I also have a pair of the Phantoms. These gloves I only use for trackdays and racing, which has a big goose egg this year, but they have already been sent to Held TWICE for repair because the stitching keeps blowing out in the same place.
