Flying Pig
Still learning to ride

Just a friendly reminder to everyone to be extra cautious when sharing lanes.
On my way home today, I ran into what could be a messy situation.
What spared me was the fact that I was alert, looking ahead, and assessing the situation as I rode through.
I rode with my fingers on the clutch and brake lever to reduce any delay when I'd need to use either lever.
I also try to reduce the time spent between cars, and I don't spend too much time next to a car and an empty space in the lane next to it.
If I'm in a lane with an empty space, I am ready to countersteer into that space if the car tries to merge over.
All in all, being alert is key.
In my case, I simply had to pull in the clutch lever and apply enough front brake to slow to avoid impact while not losing any traction.
Ride safe everyone!

And nobody should make any lane changes so suddenly they have to hit the brakes and swerve over maybe 2' off their neighbor's bumper. That guy is a dickwad. I see several just like him damn near every day on commute-- but still. Dickwad.
