The gun expert from the New York Times

Biggest load of fucking bullshit I've read in a while.

It's sad that the focus of the "backlash" of this shooting has been on the gun, and not on the mental sickness of the individual. We dont need legislature banning guns 1000 feet from anyone. We need to understand that our system dealing with the mentally ill is broken and needs to be fixed.

Just a little bit of incrementalism.

1000' of a school

Now 1000' of a politician? Sure, why not, the sheep are scared, they'll swallow it.

Next perhaps it'll be 1000' of any place where people gather, like shopping centers.

Next thing you know, that frog is boiled.

As for the intent of the framers, I think it was pretty clear. There's plenty to support it - just one example:

..................

Don't forget DUI checkpoints...1000' from them too :thumbup ( :laughing )

And pray tell, what liberty is infringed when you are only able to carry a gun within 1001 feet of a politician?

Well, do you know where your lawmakers are RIGHT NOW? Within a 1000' of you or not? That's a long way and I'd hate to be around the block (or two), legally carrying my firearm and get nailed for it. You can't comply with that law unless you are aware of where your politicians are at all times, no? And what defines a "politician" for the purposes of this proposed legislation?

Of course, dude.

Don't mind him, he's just another troll...

If what you propose was in effect (no guns within 1001' of politicians) that masacre wouldn't happen. :thumbup:thumbup:thumbup

we implant them with GPS transponders that allows *everyone* to know where EVERY politician is located anywhere in the world, 24/7. As well as iPhone and Droid apps that go off warning you when a politician is nearby.

Register, spay and neuter your politicians today!

Congressperson Peter King defines politician, as hard to believe, as a Congressperson.

And until the ATF mounts area sensors on your gun, yes you can walk/drive/ride with your gun within 1000 feet as long as the po-po don't see you or it. But when you see a sign like this:

You should just keep walking.

The authority on Glock's is MSNBC's Rachel Maddow. :rolleyes

According to her:

It’s Rachel Maddow on guns and it’s even more idiotic than I imagined. First she goes on a little rant about the all plastic gun that Glock was able to make. Yes you heard me right, an all plastic gun that Glock made. She claims Congress then passed a bill banning entirely plastic guns because of this magical undetectable-at-airports gun. What she is referencing (but never tells you) is the Undetectable Firearms Act of 1988. Basically they law states any gun that can not be detected by a walk through metal detector is banned from being manufactured or imported into the country. The law also provided an exemption for any firearm that was already in the United States.

If the law was passed and Glock never actually made an entirely plastic gun then what was Congress doing passing any such law? Probably the same thing Wisconsin was doing when they banned electromagnetic weapons for hunting. In other words they were banning something that doesn’t exist. So where did Rachel get her firearm knowledge? Probably from Die Hard 2.

She then moves on to bitch about “cop killer bullets” (and Dick Cheney). There is no such thing as “cop killer bullets.” When people refer to such mystical things they are talking about armor piercing ammunition which is defined very specifically in the United States via the Law Enforcement Officers Protection Act of 1985. In the United States armor piercing bullets is defined as handgun bullets (rifle and shotgun ammunition is specifically exempt) constructed from specified material. It also exempts any ammunition that the Secretary of Treasury exempts for hunting purposes.

Oh yeah, that's a good idea...

According to her:

Yeah, I saw that interview. I was chuckling about the all-plastic gun, but it seemed like another sneak attack at Dick Cheney, who voted against the ban of both.

She was really pointing out that the Congress will pass gun ban votes almost unanimously, even if she never pointed out that neither one ever existed.

The sad thing is that she knows that all that is the load of bullshit. But she also knows that morons will believe her.
If you hadn't said 'she', I'd think that you were talking about Rush Limbaugh and his audience! :rofl
