Hey guys and gals,

There's a new GoKart place on Mead Ave in Santa Clara (near the trampoline place and City Beach) -- they use electric gokarts!

(The gas ones' fumes would get me nauseous :barf, so I'm looking forward to checking these out.)

Groupon has a great deal that expires tonight -- the discount you purchase is valid until Feb. 8th of next year.

You can use the link below even if you're already a Groupon groupie, lol.
It merely gives you the info and details -- you decide if you want it or not:

$44 for a Racing Package with Four Races and Two Annual Race Licenses at K1 Speed in Santa Clara ($91.90 Value)

Yes, they have deals on the kart website also (buy 2 get 1 free Mon-Thurs), but they're not as good as this one -- trust me, I did the math, lol.
Each 14-lap race is normally $20, licenses are $5.95. This deal gives you FOUR races and two licenses for only $44!

Forward the link to others if you like - the more the merrier.
Go whenever you like; it's not dependent on me - I'm just sharing the good deal. ;)

Happy racing,
:teeth

Mead? Isn't that where the kart place was before? Speed Ring I think it was.

just went there last night with a few barfers! it was pretty cool.

my non professional opinion is as follows;
-concrete is pretty grippy and nice (in contrast to lemans in fremont, which i did not like)
-the power output is pretty nice, but they gotta turn up the juice to really have fun.
-the circuit is not as technical as gokart racer
-you don't practice or qualify, best lap wins. so really, the race is a qualy session
-it's fun. the karts are pretty cool and somewhat quick.

Thanks for the report. :cool

I'm in as soon as my Dr. let's me play. :party

They have one of those places up by me. I found it a lot of fun and a lot faster than I was expecting. Nice having all that torque right off the bottom, didn't have to do the ol' gas 'n brake at the same time like on gas carts. :D Plus the place up by me is about 20 bucks cheaper for the same amount of time than Le Mans. I'll definitely be going back.

Are these real racing karts like the PKC 125 shifter-karts with adjustable suspension from inside the cockpit and stuff? Or are they toys like the Malibu Gran Prix ones?

I'm going to do a few hot laps there as soon as my doctor and my lawyer say it is ok! I'm going to look at it on Saturday to check it out!

I bet my doctor can beat up your doctor!

In between. Faster than a child's toy, but still slow enough that the uninitiated won't kill themselves (I'm assuming from reviews that they are just a bit slower than the Umigo karts) - not that had stopped Kazman from running over AFM199. Literally.

Yeah they aren't ridiculously fast...it is fast enough to be fun though. We did see a cart end up at a 45 degree angle on top of another in the race right before ours. The guy said someone flipped one last weekend and got a concussion. :laughing

I wish the seats were a bit better as I have bruise on my back from digging in on the turns.

You can adjust where the gas/brakes are and the steering wheel, but no adjustable suspension.

I'm totally in for one of these group runs if it gets organized on a weekend.

if it's fast enough to be dangerous, then it sounds like fun. If I can't break traction and force a drift with just the throttle, it's not fun or dangerous enough :p

Sounds dangerous.

Hey, sweet. Wifey bought one of these yesterday and we were discussing when to go, and I just saw this post. We're in for a BARF go-karting shindig!
