Same Sex Marriage ban

call 'em like I see 'em. when you think someone doesn't deserve somethign someone else is permitted to have, simply bc of the color of their skin, their choice or refusal to follow a deity, their sexual preference or gender, you're a bigot. pretty easy to understand, or do you need a dictionary?

btw, perfectly happy in my straight marriage

Its the "if you not with me, your a bigot" stance pro same sex marriage folk have is very prevalent. It comes through their responses like so much consumed garlic.

It's one of 2 things

1- you don't agree with separation of church and state
2- you're a bigot

take your pick. I think the 1st POV is more naive and ignorant, and the 2nd is outright malicious. But unfortunately you have to fit into one of those 2 categories

Nope. It's the 'if you try to force others to live by lesser standards than yourself because of your beliefs, then you're a bigot' stance. ;)

never heard of a site called youtu.be. i don't wanna click on it. Probably try to convert me into mormonism

edit: i watched the youtube clip. You're right man. I'm a sith.
And I also totally agree with you after than 13 second video.
And I got a boner

Hey guys, gays will be naturally bred out of existence in the next 90 years

You were talking out of your arse weren't you?

When he said that gays would would be bred out of existence by the year 2100.? Naaaaaaww

I bet he's mad Michelle Bachman dropped out of the GOP race

Still no cost data.

You were talking out of your arse weren't you?

Not all at son. You asked for a lot of data. It's on my things to do list, but I have a day job. This takes a while to properly sort and the cost issues are multi-faceted, for starters;

• Private sector benefit impacts
• Public sector benefit impacts
• Immigration - with multiple subsets to welfare, sham marriages and lost American wages as a result.
• Taxation impacts.
• Payment for entitlement programs

That’s just for starters.

Remember this is not just for “gays” it’s for everyone. Selecting the proper ratios is also time consuming, but American greed knows few boundaries for sure.

I can pop it up to the front burner if you want to commission the study. Otherwise it’s a project. As hard as it may seem to believe, mounting my panniers is slightly ahead of educating you. What’s your hurry? This is going to drag on into the next Administration.

But fear not, patience is key. If you can’t wait or if you need some type of immediate gratification then perhaps you can go watch Star Wars with Var.

but..but..but - why isn't this a problem now with heteros?

and how would +/- 3% of the population make this issue the 'tipping' point?

PS - you are still a goof.

I photographed a wedding last year that was officiated by a High Priest of the Church of the Everlasting Dude.

It included music from Star Wars and Big Lebowski quotes.

Safe to say religion was not involved.

I want to attend wedding like that at some point in my life. :laughing

Just to make things clear... (and to stir the pot :laughing)...

Bigotry: Bigoted attitudes; intolerance toward those who hold different opinions from oneself.

Chum, to some extent it is an ongoing problem.

This thing is not about 3% of the population. It's a rule to apply to 100% of the population. That's the issue and its a whole different set of numbers.

What rule? What is it that's going to change for the whole population? I'm still not really sure what it is exactly that you're referring to.

so you're a bigot? ok, got it now.

bc you entirely missed the point that Prop 8 was changing the state constitution to say exactly that, that gay people can't do something straight people do. thanks for clearing that up! :thumbup

Ditto

Thanks for pointing out that if I don't agree with you then I am a (insert insult here).

a) This point is not open for debate or bullshit semantic argument; There is only one man that gets to call me son. You aren't him. Am I clear?

That said....

b) You claimed the assembly of the defense of your cost argument was, and I quote, "Easy-Peasy". So um....where is it?

I'm really trying not to read into anyone's posts anything other than the actual words and their literal meaning but yours have a particularly condescending tone to them.

Pro tip: The overwhelming majority of humans respond negatively to this. No matter what it is you are trying to say, people stop listening when you begin by belittling them. Just something to think about.

Clear? Well your clearly upset and angry. But that said you mean nothing to me so I really don't care. :teeth

Take you own tip and come back civil.:twofinger

The most recent census returns tell us that a only 48% of Americans over the age of 18 are married.

FWIW, that 48% is down from 78% in 1950. Given that every measure of our economic health was stronger in 1950 than it is now, and the percentage of American households engaged in marriage was as well, demonstrably higher, seems that adding a few percentage points worth of married couples would do us some good.
