So I rode to Sac last Sunday (03/10)... and visited the Busy Little Shop.

I got to learn a lot about Honda RC45, hung out and chatted with some friends... fun times.

Anyone else own an RC45? Ridden it? What do you think? :)

Larry's bike is soooo rad.

It's likely the best sounding bike I have heard. There's a reason Larry is so in love with V4's!!

Nice dude, too.

oh man i wish! closest i ever got was my vfrs, wish i had one now, again...

saw this '94 on cl with like 13k miles or so and perfect, i think original owner but he was asking $33 or $3800? i forget. emailed but never heard back. true story:thumbup

A close friend had a 30 when they could still be had new. It's one of the bikes that I credit giving me the sickness.

Found a dumped 45 in the late 90's, seriously considered buying it until I got a dealer quote on replacement parts - which was more than the purchase price :(

I still want a track-respectable V4, still wish Honda would stick the 1000 VFR in the 600RR chassis and throw on a single sided swingarm...

I'd trade all my D16RR and RSV4 rides for one quick spin on an RC45...

$3300 is possible (if the dude didn't know what he owned and had no internet)... although I wouldn't be surprise if it was $33,000. :)

I thought a Ducati sports classic 1000cc sounds awesome... this one has it beaten. It's now on top of my list as the best sounding bike. That exhaust is custom built and it really brings it out.

And Larry's bike is as customized as it gets, meticulously maintained, and in top condition.

Brenden loved this bike and Larry was nice enough to allow he and Anthony to sit on it. I though, am old enough to ride this bike and would love the chance. One of the best sounding bikes EVER. Is and always will be a beauty Larry.

Might have to bring a different offering, Michael. Larry has ridden the S1000RR now. :teeth

... which by the way he rode on Pilot Powers with almost 7000 miles on the front tire and almost 9000 miles on the rear. I like how they ride, will post on 'Tires, Tires, Tires' later. :)

Pilot Powers FTW (I didn't anyone read my junk). :laughing

Thanks!

Triple

PS. Is this your 2nd S1000RR, I thought yours was a different color?

Look up more on " raresportbikesforsale.com" The RC30 is a Classic too. You all eventually come back to HRC!!!... Lol!!

Its a shame Honda doesn't make V4 sport bikes for the public anymore. Luckily Aprilia makes a damn good one.

Nah... it's the one. I did originally order the silver one, but switched to this one since its VIN ends with 1000. :teeth

I like how the RSV4 ride, agile and feels small. Unfortunately, small also means not much protection from the wind, tuck or no tuck make no difference. And I heard the MPG is not that high. Ari Henning (Motorcyclist) said he gets 25-27 MPG in his commute on one. Crom, you can probably answer this better. :)

I commute on my S1000RR and I get over 40 MPG most of the time (up to 47).

Back to the thread, that RC45 rides as good as any modern bikes I've ridden. It felt lighter to flick than my S1000RR, I thought I'd get a bit of a bar wobble, but it felt very planted as is and didn't feel much lighter on acceleration... nice balance.

One thing that impressed me the most is the EFI. It's spot on, pretty close to how it is on my S1000RR (which comes with ride-by-wire). Probably because it was developed as a race bike... HRC kicked the tech part a few notches up.

I don't know why we didn't get them up to that quality on bikes sold in the 90s and early 2000s. It's obvious now that the manufacturers knew how to do it even back then.

It's quite a historical day in my life. Along with when I got to drive a Porsche 356. :teeth
