10th Anniversary SF Meet 05/23/12

Whew, nice! :cool

I'm new to SF and the meetups, and couldn't get there until well after 9, but it was great to meet everyone I was able to. Fun, welcoming group. :ride

Thanks Budman, Dan/revnort, Dave/greener, Jimmy/(can't remember), Rick/machete, Adam/Pelon, Annette/???, and anyone else I met but whose name I can't remember! :party

Awesome night was awesome!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for those who organized, those who said hi, those who were cordial, and the rest of ya!!!

Got to finally put a face to some names, and :leghump those who deserve to be :leghump

Posted my pics up in tanya's thread... though I should say it was a collaborative effort since Nick stole my camera halfway through the night... I guess I should be glad I didn't get it back with a hundred pictures of penises... :twofinger

pm me a email address, I'll send pics of the bike.

PM inbound! :thumbup

Great meet! Used to seeing most of you in riding gear or swim trunks. Must ... get ... out ... more ...

Seeing all the bull riding injuries reminded me of this:

Great meeting you, let's get out and ride! :ride

I'm just giving you a hard time, Sweet T. ;o)

I don't want to be "that guy" but I feel it should be said.
more than half the people who said they were going to benders couldn't walk straight... it would be terrible if the next person to t-bone a moto was one of our own barfers drunk driving...

had a good time tho

Hmm...

I'll take a stab at this.

Which of the designated drivers did you witness going and driving barfers drunk? I know of three carpools that went to benders and all of them had coherent non-drunk people behind the wheel. Actually, one vehicle was taken to another barfers house (driven by his sober gf) to crash on the couch after benders as he did not want to drive home.

The rest hung out and had a beer, or are local to the neighborhood and had many beers (my head still kinda hurts).

As far as riding to benders and not driving... those of us who do this every week, take it very easy at the away bar, and then return to our neighborhood to park the bikes and actually have a few drinks.

There is quite a bit of self policing that goes on. I can't recall any occasion where someone had gotten drunk and drove or rode home from any barf meet. Arrangements are always made. There may even be a couple of funny stories of someone staying long after everyone left drinking water, or vomiting out of the parked car they were sleeping in.

I appreciate your concern, but as for the reality of it, I am not sure you got the full picture. There is certainly room to discuss the dangers of drinking and driving/riding in another thread or perhaps PMs.

So bring us the pain! We'll make sure you get home. (Hope it's not as bad as that.)

It was worse than that - waaaay worse. And it's still pretty awful today. Damn you, wacky ovaries! :cry

Holy crap. After coming to these things for 9 years or so, it's great to see the old faces... kind of like krakens coming up from the depths to check out the new squids!

I remember when we would get off work form the moto shops, eat/drink/hang at Hukialu and make fun of the "internet nerds" that met up at Family. And look at our family now! It was awesome being able to shake hands and hug my way around the room... literally. Over the years I've met, lived with, rode with, worked with, fought with, partied with, played with and fucked with so many BARF'ers that I can't imagine what being motorcyclist in the Bay Area would be without BARF

oh yeah. Winning the trackday was pretty cool too :twofinger :burnout

good thing I did a celebratory burnout before I left for work.

It was great seeing everybody that made it down to Bender's after. For real. I was bummed that I had to leave the party, so when everybody showed up, it really made my night. It seemed like the drivers were drinking water, the moto peeps were sticking to PBR only (no shots) and nobody forgot their helmets.

Willis,I can hook you up with tires,I could almost see the air in your rear tire.

I was at Benders. I guess the staggering people didn't make it.
