You wuz prolly better off miss'in this one Mr Budmon; rain, snow, and hail go'in over that mountain turned into the ride from hell!!! :p
Thanks Kurt fer lunch 'n scape'in me off the road not once butt twice! :laughing

Hardcore two wheel love.

Some rides are stupid, and other rides are st000000pid. This is definitely the latter.

When I said this ride was st00000pid, I may have understated it a bit, for this ride far, far exceeded my own standard of stupidity. :loco It was NASTY out there. If my video camera survived, I'll upload some vid later in the weekend.

Forgot to mention that we were stopped by the side of the road near Healdsburg on the way back when I heard someone shout my name. :wtf It was Mike Solis and his friend Dan (Dave? sorry :dunno ) coming back from an epic bicycle ride that included King Ridge, Tin Barn and Skaggs! :applause

Glad you two are back safe.
Looking forward to vid :Popcorn

No vid of Andy on the ground. It was raining/snowing/sleeting/hailing to hard by then and I had to put the camera away. :(

You should have seen the look Andy got as we rolled past the CHP office with LIDAR south of Willits! :laughing Andy and his "dirt bike" both covered in mud! :laughing Oh, and thanks to the northbound Harley riders who provided the vigorous head taps. :thumbup

The Northern Barf contingency bailed early as we woke to cold temps and rain. I left a message on on BB walkie-talkie but it only has a 1mile range:(.
First indication something was awry was hearing from the Hun on BB's wakie-talkie wondering if we was waiting for them in Covelo....No, sorry, home inside where it is safe and warm:teeth
DT..

Sounds like a ride I would have enjoyed! Sorry I was unable to attend. Glad you're ok, Andy.

Sounds like quite the adventure! I had a momentary thought of joining you guys before sanity took over. :laughing

BTW if you get a ContourRoam ... it's waterproof. :teeth

T'ain't got no video, but I did get sum picz...
It started out goaty great on Leeseville

A urinal with a view...

Urinal_With_View.jpg

Leeseville, Ladoga, and the paved part of 162/FH7 wuz great. Hell even the dry dirt part of FH7 wuz great, but then it started to hail which I thought wuz great too, (keeps the dust down) until, it got worse, and worse, and worse; my visor wuz covered in hail or snow, or sum other kinda white wet cold shit from the heavens.
Thought 'bout wait'in it out, but see'in there wuz no blue sky or break in sight we had to push on.

Had a few "moments" where the bike went slidewayz, (Maybe Pilot Powers aren't the best tires fer dirt & mud? :dunno ) but harkening back ta mah dirt roots, I just kept on the gas 'n everythang worked itself out. But then whilst in 3rd gear at 'bout 35 mph go'in in a straight line, the wheels dun slid out from under me. :wtf I tried pick'in the bike up, but wuz lagh'in too hard, plus mah cowboy boots didn't have much grip in the snake snot slime either. Then Kurt happened along and helped me get the bike up, and told me to SLOW THE FUCK DOWN!!!
So I did, I took off and wuz only in 2nd gear at about 25 mph, and bailed again no more than a mile down the road. :rofl Same thang; go'in straight and the wheels just slid out from under me. :wow There wuz no grip! Kurt wuz shlep'in along in the duff on the side of the road in 1st, so I did the same; for awhile, but then mah bike wuz over heat'in so I had to take off! :teeth I figured it wuz just all the mud & snow caked on the radiator, so up ate the summit, i packed mor snow all over the motor, but that didn't help. Hummmm?

By now we're on the down hill side, so I coasted with the key on, and the fans cooling the motor. Once it go down to 150 degrees, I fired the thang back up, but it wuz up over 200 degrees in no time. we puled over, (The rain/snow/hail has finally stopped) and I could see where there wuz a hole in the coolant line from my git-off.
"Oh fuck, now what?"
Kurt_N_dirt.jpg

It's sum purdie country up thar!

The_View.jpg

I dun coasted fer 'bout 12 mi. down to Indian Dick (Which wuz difficult cuz mah rear brake wuz bent in a weird way) where we fixed the thang, and had lunch with sum hippies. Interest'in thang, all the locals up thar ride KLR650s; they wuz everywhere ride'in without helmets. True Americans live'in free!:applause
We got ta Covelo, and called the Duncanator, to tell we wuz o.k. our roadside fix worked. :p
Even though my pinkie finger, shoulder, hip, and leg were sore, Kurt still coerced me into do'in 253/128 on the way home. :ride
Itwuz quite an adventure!!! :banana
Hey Kurt, MRR next weekend? :later

Dang missed another great adventure with the Hun and Banjo. What is this ritual of making a big deal about graduating anyway? I was in Santa Rosa watching my niece gradumatate when this all went down. The skys were angry that day with dark ominous clouds rolling in and out.

Wish I were there, and when's the next one? Might have to truck the wr up there. Tuan, fix that DRZ already.

What is this "truck" you speak of? :confused
