Are they all prostitution houses? Are the girls traffiked?

I ask because I see so many of them around.

On one hand, I can't believe that it would be so easy to open a house of ill repute in the same shopping center as a Target.

On the other hand, I have known many, many women who have received a massage - none of them received it an Asian Massage Parlor.

So what's the deal? If a dude is getting a massage, and the police raid, is everybody inside automatically arrested?

I am bit naive in the world despite my advanced age. These are serious questions.

Oh, and I should state that I am not anti-prostitution in most cases (human traffiking being an obvious exception).

Certainly not most women. And men would only go there for a cheap "massage."

I've been to an Asian massage place on Taraval (I'm a woman) and it was just a cheap massage place. There are certainly places that offer happy endings and have trafficked women working there.

Kidding. But just a curious question: was it the cheap price that led you there?

Back story - I was a stay at home dad for a while (good work if you can find it!), and I almost....almost went to school for massage. I massage my wife almost every night so I thought it would be a good fit. When I laid out my projected earnings I realized that I wouldn't make that much money, and that was projected at approximately $95 an hour. So the "$29.99" massage rates befuddle me (hence the thread).
 
I asked a cop about this many years ago.

They ALL offer the "happy ending".:rofl

It was a rate of $45 for a massage that led me in. The lady was a strong and capable masseuse.
 
I can point you to a place in Walnut Creek where you can research the subject for yourself.

All the women working in them are doing it one their own will and they love the money they get. Trafficking is just a word that the media and women like to sensationalize because they don't want men to have any fun.
