BARFistan 2014 - Come ride Pakistan with me!!!

Moin, what would the flight route be- trying to get an idea of ticket costs. Is it sfo-Lahore-Islamabad and the same return trip?
Hoping to get some shandur polo fields in my life!
 
To keep the costs down to the bare minimum i had to skip on Lahore. so you fly in to Islamabad from SFO, and we start the ride from there.

lahore is 4/5 hours south of Islamabad and in the summers its too hot to ride this stretch, lahore to islamabad.

but then Lahore is a city not to be missed. Maybe you get the ticket for islamabd and we make a 2 day trip to Lahore in a private buss/limo.

Lahore has all the culture from the old times, the british and the Mughal era and its something id love to show you guys..

lets talk and figure out what everyone would like to do.

So what's the average overall cost for the entirety of the trip?

I'm interested, wanted to go last time but was uber broke. I have some cash saved up this time.
 
Flight was 1900, and each tour looks like 2 weeks at $1000 a week... so about $4000 for 2 weeks.

and thats basically what it costs for Moin to put this on. The extras are also quite amazing. Its really nice not having to worry about expenses.

I just found a roundtrip flight on emirates.com from SFO to ISB (Islamabad) for $1410 but it's a depart SFO Friday/arrive ISB Sunday deal so not sure if that's worth the savings..


edit: this is looking like a good deal.. other flights I'm finding are $1900+ and still leave Friday/arrive Sunday.

hopefully we'll pick dates soon, so we can start searching/watching flight prices.
 
so, if sponsorship for rentals becomes not available, do you think that total trip cost from SF can be be kept to under $4500 for two weeks from SF. not to dampen the spirit of the thing, but a girls got to be careful with the $, you know:teeth

well if with rentals it's $1k a week and flights are approx. $2k, you're already under $4,500 for the trip (1k+1k+2k).

again, the unknown cost is the bike rental , but, damn, this would awesome!!

so far the cheapest I've found is approx. $1300 using the site thumperx recommended last year (http://matrix.itasoftware.com) and it's a shorter flight than the prior ones :thumbup.. Moi, what sites do you typically use?
