BARFistan 2014 - Come ride Pakistan with me!!!

Depending on the dates I am in. I should probably double check with Mrs Frozenuts, but she was down for me to go last year.

I would LOVE to take some photos of the ride, but I have events to shoot in all of the listed months.

Max!!!!!!!!!!! Please come on the May/June ride. It would be absolutely amazing to have you there!

If the dates don't interfere with the AFM schedule (and I think I have one wedding already inked) I am there. There is that money thing to worry about as well but I think I can squeak by.

Right on. I hope it works out. I'm even willing to sell my plated smoker if I'm not able to tuck away enough cash in time. I sure hope it doesn't come to that, though.

I am getting excited about this. Will work my road bike racing season around it. :D

Moin, what can you say about weather during those months? It looks HOT and possibly rainy for July/Aug, but we would be in the far north and up in the mountains...

The lowlands are hot. When you get into the mountains, the weather becomes pleasant. The only place it got a bit cold was the night we camped as well as when we went to the Khunjareb pass.

My 2 cents.

departing from Islamabad, first 2 or 3 days are hot.. then its perfect riding weather, california weather.. gets cold at night but we don't ride at night.. heaters are available in the hotels but we barely ever need them. a day trip to the china border, when we get to the very top of the pass it is cold there, but we stay there a max 15-20 mins at 15,400 feet, that cold isn't bothersome either..

Oceansides, you're right, shandur camping is cold. but then bonfire helps :D

So some good base layers, and wind stoppers basically should do the trick.

I'd be interested in a sit down drinks meeting as well....can we set something up in a couple of weeks?

Both Michael and myself would be glad to. Send either of us a PM.

I'm in SF and if anyone wants to talk about ride conditions and/or preparation, I'd be happy to talk about it over some drinks or just PM.

Maybe a small group event would be good? then anyone seriously interested or signed up for 2014 can grill Michael and Kyle. I'm willing to organize if M & K are on board.

if I'm you, i will bring a thermal/baselayer, a wool sweater or a hoodie and a thin wind stopper the waterproof one which i can wear over the gear too..

I would truly appreciate it if u would be generous enough to organize this!

Definitely not in the budget this time around, but maybe next time.

I may have two roundtrip vouchers London to Islamabad-working on it.

Also we have BARFISTAN Tshirts for sale $10 each with proceeds going to BARF :thumbup

:banana :party I'm probably going to be flying out of SJC rather than SFO. ISB is the Islamabad international airport.

Eyeballing flights on Emirates. Right now, it's looking like $1386 for a May 21 departure (arrive in the morning on May 23) and a 3am departure on June 8. Soooooo close to pulling the trigger.
