I'm ready for a new helmet and would like a large selection to try. I live in the San Luis Obispo area and will be traveling to Santa Rosa later in May so would like to find a shop on the way with lots of different helmets, have a local Cycle Gear but there's a few brands of interest they don't stock. So who's in the Bay Area with lots of stock?

Road Rider in San Jose has the best selection in the south bay. If it's Shoei or Arai you're looking for Cycle Gear also seems to have a decent selection (if you can find your way past all the BILT gear).

Edit: If it's Schuberth you want to try on, San Jose BMW has a good selection of that brand. I haven't seen anyone else around here carrying Schuberth so I thought I'd mention that.

Visit Road Rider this Saturday between 9AM and 5PM for our second annual Brain Day helmet sale and celebration!

I don't work there, I have bought most of my gear there over the decades.

Among others I'm looking for the new Bell Bullit and the Fly brand, also AGV. I currently wear an Arai XD (one of the first year so about 5 yo) and want to stay with a full-face/large opening. Thanks for the reply's so far.

SF BMW typically has a good selection, but best of all, they don't usually mark up the helmets to nose-bleed prices. Of course everything else in the building costs a jillion dollars, even the little screws that hold your license plate frame are like 14 dollars each.
