I'm kinda laughing at Economists, scientists, psychologists. Wonder where they got that control group. 14.2% is pretty low. Though 30 BMI is pretty high.

Avergage post doc salary is 45k and that's adjusted for SF. Scientists early in their career are skinny because they are starving. :rofl

I should send rel a link to this thread...

Always wanted to give him a hint that he's losing that girly figure lately..

The last company I worked for, the skinniest guy was a double Phd.

The chubby ones were Bachelors Science.

Welfare/federal assistance isn't an occupation? 'Cause 40% would seem like nothing.

Higher obesity rate also looks like it is related to the stress level of the job.

Stress does bad things to your body. Some days you feel like you can't handle it anymore and just want to do something where everything is already maped out, like driving a BART train, for the rest of your career.

Scientist, motherfuckers. Top of the fucking fitness world.

Great day to be a physicist, tell you what.

we can stack more data

68.5% of adults are overweight or obese; 34.9% are obese.
31.8% of children and adolescents are overweight or obese; 16.9% are obese.
30.4% of low-income preschoolers are overweight or obese.

Disparities exist based on race-ethnicity, gender, age, geographic region, and socioeconomic status.

I think the odds of dying from obesity will soon far outweigh the others...

Did you know the NHSTA is having to order all new test dummies - this way the test subject is of similar size to the American populace :wow

Lumping architects and engineers in together hardly seems fair, as does lumping together all engineers (as there's rather a large range of disciplines, industries, etc etc). :x

Being 14% bodyfat doesn't mean you're in shape. You could be just a scrawny mofo who never worked out or played team sports as a kid, so they stayed skinny all their life.
