So how hard is the Sheriff's Marksmanship test?

I'm happy to never agree with that. I frankly don't care if anyone does, as I've said before.

Hey Dave- let's pick a day and ride up, meet Steve for lunch. He said he'd buy...

(Its a couple hours ride)

Let's do eeeeeeeetttt! :ride

And im guessing his deputies feel the same, even the range master...a guy who probably now has his drinks paid for the next year or two.

:rofl Three years at least.

I'm glad someone had enough brass balls to fail him.

Years ago, I knew the range master for SFSO. We were talking about what they do when they'd have Deputies fail qual. They used to keep special, very lightly loaded .38 special match wad cutters from Remington that they'd let personnel use if they failed the first or second try.

so why do so many people hate the sheriff? just because he's apparently a bit of an ass?

What information were you looking for? If you can't find it here, I can tell you where to go.:teeth

Actually I've been looking for it too. Can't seem to find the specific reg/manual detailing exactly what they do for quals.

Army M9 qual is 30 targets, popups, ranging from (IIRC) 5m-25m away, combination of singles and pairs, with reloads thrown in (mags are loaded with uneven numbers of rounds and very much less than full, but I forget the specific numbers you load. It's like 7-9-3-11 or something.
