Let’s put them here!

Oooh! I wanna see the pic of Cincinnatus' GSA going for a swim!

by popular demand:

picture.php

Cincinnatus contemplates the slippery rock that betrayed him in the second water hazard above the south end of M3, while Cabrito sends an inReach message to bananachunks that we had a man down, and SFMCjohn snaps pics ... :angel

happy to report that my ancient leather Aerostich Combat boots are still waterproof,
and that picking up a GSA is easier with three men ... :afm199

Copied from the other thread...

I had to leave early due to a family emergency...but not before doing a great ride with Cincinnatus, Bananachunks, Cabrito, and SFMCJohn. That crew is a class act!

My spot on Thursday night...the water stayed on BTW

Here, Cincinnatus was holding forth over breakfast Friday morning...

...and Bananachunks listened in

Meanwhile, out on the M10, we stopped for a quick break

A little later down the trail, here's Cincinnatus getting through a water crossing

A little while later, we crossed another stream Cincinnatus' bike decided to go for a swim. I missed it because I was up the road with Banachunks waiting on the rest. After what seemed like too long, we decided to go back and find the others. It was at that moment my bike decided to take a nap instead of make a u-turn.

And here we all are having a lunch stop. As you can see, SFMCJohn has figured out that the RIDER is supposed to recline on the ground for a break--NOT the bike. But I'm still a nOOb at this ADV stuff. I'll learn eventually!

I was not taking a picture, I was sending a inReach message to bananachunks that we had a man down. It was pointed out to me recently by a friend that I seem to only post pictures of bikes that are crashed, so I’ve decided to stop doing that for the time being. LOL

FWIW, I'm not hobbling in pain, I was putting my earplugs into my jacket pocket. :D :afm199

Thanks for playing the part of the monkey on the luggage racks while John and I lifted that monster. Guiding it up the hill was SO MUCH FUN... :rolleyes :teeth

I think there should be a sign at that watercrossing, something like "Keep LEFT, there's a shelf to the right that'll stop a bike in its tracks" :rofl

Overall, it was a great ride and a blast riding with you, George, John, & Geoff. :thumbup :party

I edited my post to reflect reality more accurately ...
when I grow up I want to be more like Cabrito and Cincinnatus! :thumbup

here’s another pic, sunset from Mt St John with Mt Hull and Sanhedrin Mountain in the distance:

Honda was well represented at StonyBARF 13

I call this "you were taking a piss"

I never ran out of gas with my giant fuel tank

ADV Bikes were well represented at StonyBARF 13

SMMCJohn coordinating with Bananachunks on the route.

John looking good.

There was this one downed tree and the go-around had a muddy bog. It required a full Adventure Rider team for the Heave-Ho

John of course takes the best route on the mighty KLR

#Adventure Rider Life

Bananachunks on his sick CB500X Rally Raid

Geoff doing it right on his sick MultiStrada (Nice to see one getting dirty)

Cincinnatus was smooth on the big GS

and of course John is always photogenic

Love the pics! Nice to see a CB500X represented. :teeth

These are so awesome.

Peter it looks like your back hurts. :teeth

Hey, Dennis!

Nah, just bending forward to stick my earplugs into my jacket pocket before wading back into the water to lift the bike. :thumbup :laughing

The fact that I'm 65+ and riding dirt is a testament to my level of "WTF am I thinking?!?!" :laughing

I had a blast, the first section of M3 coming off M10 was steep downhill with loose rocks all over the road, roasted trees in the road, and watercrossings throughout. Oh, and gullies, more than I could count. :teeth

I want to do it again. :party :laughing

the KLR, fighting gravity since 1987 ... :laughing:thumbup

great riding with you early Saturday morning Guoseph, made my day. :ride

Love the pics! Nice to see a CB500X represented. :teeth

one more CB500X pic, for our down under Honda fans:

looking toward the Goat Mountain gate ... bananachunks’ Rally Raid
CB500X is a sweet ADV bike, and he rides the wheels off it. :party

just love that we’re heaving the big GSA backwards ...
pretty much sums up my one-step-forward-two-steps-back #Adventure Rider Life. :toothless

That mud shot is such a great pic! It represents the essence of ADV riding to me.

And can you send me a HD copy of these two pics?

We couldn't abandon my bike when it got sunk in the mud, it had the gas, tools, first aid, food, & water. :teeth

No wonder it sank! :laughing

Looks like a good weekend was had by all. I'm looking forward to the day my normal life resumes and I can join in on the festivities :)

Yeah I'll send them to you.

Here is moments before where Bananachunks is calling for more help.
