My old Supertechs were really not doing well after a little less than two years. Soles torn up, left zipper broken, hole in one boot that kept the toe slider from staying on, velcro coming apart, etc. I've been hunting around for a decent boot replacement, and coming up empty.

Then I read about the Alpinestars boot repair program, and decided to try it out. I called and got an RMA number, and shipped the boots down to Torrance just after the holidays. Today, I got the boots back - resoled, zipper repaired, hole repaired, velcro repaired, new toe and heel sliders. They're not cosmetically 100%, but they seem functionally 100%, and it was a lot cheaper than a new pair of boots. I do like these boots - they're ugly, but comfortable and functional, and I can now keep them.

Their hold music is a sprotbile revving. I appreciate that.

Awesome! Contact info please? I have two pair of SMX plus that need to be resoled.

I hope you got the license plate number of the acid-spitting rhino who raped your boots. :laughing

(nice pics and writeup - good to know!)

Love the before and after comparisons.
And I'm almost tempted to call them just to hear their hold music now :rofl

Ja, I'm not very kind to my gear...

They did do a good job! It was $80 (including shipping back); I think that number might change according to what you need done, since I mailed the boots there and then got the quote.

Call 310-891-0222 and ask for boot repair.

That's badass. I had no idea they had a boot repair service. Wish I could get my old Sidis done.

my experience w/ alpinestar repair was really smooth as well. my SMX+ zipper was kinking and they fixed it free of charge (minus shipping).

Thanks. :)

They did a dayum good job.

Do you know if they repair jackets too? Wouldn't mind paying a bit to get my old tz-1 back in wearable condition.

I wonder if dainese has a similar program

My experience with Dainese was not very pleasant....normally they did not answer their phones. I left messages that no one returned, and when I finally got to talk to them they were <of course> of no help....

Alpinestars on the other hand, gave me outstanding customer service.....and it looks like my experience was not the exception, but how Alpinestars normally does business. Great company!

Another company with great customer service is KBC.

Awesome!

I had some experience with AStar boot repair service. Had a zipper go out on my SMX Plus and they replaced it FREE! All I had to pay for was shipping there! :thumbup

Call the Dstore in SF next time, they'll probably help you out.

Does anybody know if Puma does this repair for boots?
