đŸș Craft Breweries

October–November 2025

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been exploring and stopping at some incredible breweries across California and Nevada. Great beer, great food, and even better people. Most of these spots had food trucks, scenic patios, or were tucked away at the end of a winding road—just the kind of places that make the journey worth it.

Here’s where I’ve been lately:

Brewery Location
Fogbelt Healdsburg
Anderson Valley Brewing Boonville
Old Caz Rohnert Park
Lagunitas Petaluma
Crooked Goat Petaluma
HenHouse Petaluma
HenHouse Novato
Parliament Rohnert Park
Pond Farm San Rafael
Adobe Creek Ignacio
Keg Stand Novato
Oak Park Sacramento
Urban Roots Sacramento
BrewHaus Nevada City
Donner City Truckee
South of North Stateline, NV
Lake Tahoe Aleworx Stateline, NV
Solid Ground Diamond Springs
Sonoma Springs Sonoma
Wolfhouse Cloverdale

Got a favorite brewery ?

Yesterday we stopped at “The last stand” in Willows. A pretty cool burger joint. Elfin had a burger I had jambalaya. And a beer on tap. Farmers apparently. Quite good and local. I had never even seen that brew before.

Tis a noble cause you have committed to

Moonraker is a must, Knee Deep is decent and right next door. Together though they are kinda dangerous on two wheels as they have a lot of tasty, but strong stuff on tapp.

Why are there so many IPA's? To mask how bad these guys are at brewing? Just asking questions. /FauxNewz
Every brewery I've been to that has IPAs has many other options.

I do like IPAs so not a big issue.

I knew the anti IPA craowd would show up early in this thread. It's weird to me. Drink what you like, there are so many choices out there. I don't think I've heard the whining from IPA drinkers, "Why are there so many Pilsners."

That's quite a list of breweries, I've been to several of them.

A couple months ago I went to an A's game in Sac. We stopped by Drakes Brewing Company beforehand. The beer garden was amazing, right by the river. Tons of people/families. We went to order beers and the bartender mentioned they have canned beer (IPA!!) for six bucks a six pack. We thought she meant 6 bucks each. Nope, six delicious brewskies for six bucks.

Drink what you like folks, it's OK.

There's soo many to choose from where to begin? With new ones opening/closing we'll never get to them all.

Novel Brewing in Emeryville was a good one, it's called Tenma Beer Project.

I'm in the Central Valley so a couple that I frequent:

Dust Bowl (Originated in Turlock where I live)
Blaker Brewing (Ceres, CA)
Contentment Brewing (Modesto, CA)

Some on that list are known to me from 30 years ago.
I was looking for the ones that didn't survive, quite a few.
Mostly Nor-Cal breweries,

Central Coast, Paso Robles, Tin City,
has a knot of Suds Makers, with old wood wine barrels, aging new beers.
A step or two past an IPA, Barley Wine.
Morro Bay has a sour beer soul, too

IPAs exist because a bunch of people like drinking them. I don't mind them at all, but yes it's nice to enjoy many styles. Moonraker IPAs are often seen in the wild, but they're actually known for their barrel aged stouts which are generally only available at the brewery. Yum.

The one craze that escaped me was sour beer.

Tried them at Russian River as they had won "awards" for them.

Godawful.

I'll try any other beer other than those with fruit in them even that was popular in Belgium back in the day where I went to HS.

5 Suns in Martinez. They've got a nice variety of good beers

A lot of these are near me.
Do you live in Marin/Sonoma County?

Just saying
At the end of the day, craft brewing is about exploration. You walk into a place, scan the tap list, and maybe try something you didn’t expect to like.
That’s the spirit—variety, creativity, and a little bit of adventure in every pour.
I’m here for the good stuff—whatever style it comes in.
Drink what you like, explore what you don’t, and let the beer speak for itself.

And their barrel aged stouts are freaking delicious and high octane dangerous đŸ€€

I love them. I had two of them yesterday at the brewery in Windsor. They also had the double dry hopped Pliny and they make a damn fine pilsner.

I live just down the street from Solid Ground. They are good. They aren't amazing and trendy, but they make great lagers, decent IPAs, amazing dry ciders, and good wine. It's kind of impressive how they pull it off.

There are a few decent breweries in town now. Burning Barrel is good, Geartooth makes solid beer and incredible bbq.

Moonraker down in Cameron Park and I guess Knee Deep opened a place in Folsom.

That’s great information for me.
Spending time @ Slypark lately and will get to these spots next time I am in town.
My friend “Chugg” wants to go there soon
