What are the advantages...
What are the dis-avantages???

:smoking

throttle control seems like it would be awfully twitchy to me, but then, I'm not a racer... yet.

I think most super-sport bikes already come with 1/4 throttle. Most of my buddies upgrade to a 1/5 turn throttle.

Advantages: easier on the wrist, quicker to snap wide open

Disadvantages: Fine throttle control

as if my bad throttle control coupled w/ a twitchy FI weren't enough...:teeth

though i wouldn't mind it if i could get to WOT faster/less effort sometimes.

I swear by the 1/5 turn on my SV. I know several GSX-R600 and GSX-R750 racers who do the same.

I can't countersteer the bike at full throttle without it.

Just get the YEC throttle kit, comes with cables, hosing and throttle assy.Makes it 1/5th turn:cool ...Robbie

1/4 turn seems a bit much. Go 1/5 turn in my opinion. Seems quite a bit nicer. Would be a little harder on the wrists yes but throttle control is everything.
