17mm master cylinder for my DRZ -- too much?

Looking to buy a Nissan radial master cylinder for my DRZ with stock caliper at the moment. Is this workable, or just way too much power for the little caliper.

Looking to replace the caliper down the road, but in the meantime, can I use this master?

Way too much, still too much even with an aftermarket 4 pot caliper.

This is what confuses me.. It's a Nissan 17mm radial master *made* for single calipers.

But everything in the box is Japanese - The only engrish writing was something like 17mm on a standard 14mm bore.

Which makes no sense.. Anyways, i've decided to pass on it and go Magura.

It wouldnt be too much. i did similar a few years ago. Switched from SM to Enduro and back to SM....etc. Kept the big Mastet Cylinder but swapped rotors and wheels.

If you can race you can modulate your brake pressure. I would say go for it.

Smaller piston = more power (line pressure) but a longer lever stroke.

How much radial over regular adds mechanical leverage is the unknown for me.

I bought a Magura 13mm Radial master and it is perfect!

Much better feel than the stock master.
