The bike is complete, my brother might even have the owners manual.

The bike has a brand new chain, but no battery.

The bike could be restored to ridable condition but it would need a battery, rear tire, and most importantly a serious carb overhaul. The carb overhaul is not as easy as it sounds on this V4. Not easy to do and not easy/cheap to get parts.

The bike is in Sacramento. Make an offer above $300 if you want it.

It WILL wheelie. Rather easily I might add. I loved the VF 500 I rode around on for a bit when I was 18.

The parts CAN still be found, pretty easily as well. IF you know where to look. They run about $25-40 PER CARB. Look hard enough you'll find someone dumping a full carb rebuild/jet kit for $100-150


fwiw: I bet you could get away with a cleaning, and a new float seal.

I had a super clean 84 500 back in the day. Not that easy to wheelie. Lots of clutch abuse needed.

Oh my brother is a funny one. He said, "I don't think they had the option to non-op back then." He doesn't know what he did, but my guess is that he did nothing. So I'm guessing there will be some late reg fees.

Just like my first back in NorCal back in the mid 90's. I did have a couple of street bikes when I lived in L.A. in the late 80's, but I liked this one way better. Mine was rattle can black, but the motor had a great sound!
