Hi BARF. If anyone knows any of the race team that used to race these bikes will you please reply here of PM me. Hoping to get this stuff in the hands of someone that raced these bikes in the past. Thanks, Ken

From the ad...

$3000 OBO for everything in the photos

I am facilitating the sale of my friends’ motorcycles for his widow.

Title Status: Title in hand (Salvage) for the complete bike. The non assembled frame title is not Salvage.

What’s included:

One complete plated motorcycle

EXTRAS:

Another titled powder coated yellow frame (1987 Kawasaki)

Two fuel tanks, one appears to have a new paint job

Swingarm

Front fairing (2), tail piece, fenders, fairing stay, gauges

Aluminum mid frame piece, needs some repair

2 rear subframes, 2 more rear subframes not shown in photos

The last 2 photos are from “back in the day”.

This motorcycle and parts were part of a fleet of winning race bikes that Julian Farnam (aka Frame Maker) built and commissioned some time ago. You can find lots more info on this and other customs from the master builder on Google. I just searched Julian Farnam AK1 and got lots of results.

The assembled motorcycle has a battery that turns the lights on. It currently has no fuel in the gas tank. I can not say when it was last run however, he did ride it on a Mines Road ride we did several years ago. I may find some time to attempt to start it and run it but ATM I have no time so it is being sold as is not running.

Must be picked up in Livermore, CA, close to LLNL. Zip code 94550.

CASH ONLY SALE

Tom Dorsey, raced one, I think--the AFM racer who used to do tech inspection. Past AFM presidents Kevin Smith and Shawn Riley should be able to remember the other racers and/or the teams. Glen Gibson or his brother may remember, as well--they campaigned their own EX500 custom frame against the AND race bikes. As I recall, of course, Mr @Frame Maker was running the race team back when these cool bikes were winning AFM 500 Twins championships.

I didn't PM you because I'm not in touch with any of these folks, anymore, and thought perhaps someone here may be able to help get in touch with the people who actually raced the AND EX500-based race bike--they had a fantastic reputation amongst AFM club racers, and were always awesome to behold in the AFM pits. was wonderful today to see the pics of one ... hopefully it gets into the hands of one of the guys who loved it, back then. :angel

Thanks for the info John. It's great to hear the "Frame Maker" stories. I'll do some digging to see if I can get in contact with the names you mentioned. Ken

Ken, I will text my second cousin Tom Dorsey. Text sent.

Tom is not in the market for another motorcycle. Alas...

Sold on FB to a racer in Reno. Filled his truck and trailer with tons of cool stuff.

Thanks BARF!!!
