2009 Rydther Rally - BARF in Hawthorne (Sept 25-27)

wow sounds like you guys had a great time. maybe ill come along next year... =)
 
Back home at 1,035 miles. Good times, incredible scenery, met some new friends, saw some awesome riding. Going up I took a more scenic Rally with flying_hun’s group bonus loop on Jesus and Marie Road then meandered over Hwy 4, stopping for photos. The tar snakes on Monitor Pass were sslitherrryyiieee. :wow

Saturday flying_hun and I went out to the interesting Berlin-Icthyosaur sites for a smaller "arrested decay" experience of a ghost town and a gander at the fish fossils. Afterwards, he went North on dirt while my plan was to double back on “asphalt” (see closeup of typical Nevada roads in the area). I discovered after he left that I had a flat, but my Stop & Go Plugger :thumbup and CO2 saved the day!

On Sunday, I left early at 7am to catch early morning light. I had breakfast in Lee Vining where the southbay crew also was eating. I stopped a few times on Hwy 120 thru the park, but saw only Kurt and perhaps one other from BARF. :dunno So I made my way home on 120, but took Smith Station Rd to Greeley Hill Rd to Coulterville, then did Little Dragon out and back. :ride That was fffunnn!

Thanks to Tom, Budman (sorry you couldn't come, hope all's well), and all the others who put effort into this event. It was good to meet new people and Rydther Rally again. :teeth

I was very bummed I could not make it.. and life threw me some curves that were not moto related. Followed the thread a bit.. over the weekend, but have been pretty down about stuff and busy back at work as well today.

The upside is I picked up a job on Friday.. :teeth and we were the runner up for Architect of the year as voted by the Silicon Valley Biz Journal.. I knew we were not going to beat the big boys out.. they did the rocking new SJ Airport and some other awesome projects.. and we are little compared to them.. but we are still honored to make it to second. Nice artical in the paper... yada yada..

Mom's health is the numero uno issue.. and that hopefully will be ending in a good scenario here in a week or two. :angel :angel :angel Send good juju her way.


It is cool that both my parents are actually OK that I do this barf thing. It took a little while.. :teeth I have been one lucky guy to work with them all my adult life.. and see them so often. Basically pops.. almost everyday really... and mom at least a few times a week... and I get to share good times with folks like you.. just missed out on this one.

That was a great rally! Count me in for next year.

I didnt keep track of my mileage, but I made it home in 4 hours flat:twofinger

There seeems to be quite a few photo's of the poolside, dinner and Joes' that are missing :x

Went solo on the way to Hawthorne, twaz nice and smoth ride with my baby, no rush just cruizin. 167 was mine for an hour or so, go fast, go slow WTF the line looks never end. Another great trip, met old & new friends.
