2011 Spring Rally -- BARF does Quincy!

Staying on topic, I plan on leaving from Oakland about 1pm on Friday. If anyone else is leaving from the area the same time and wants to convoy, let me know. :ride
mcarb wuz talk'in 'bout take'in 162 all the way from 101; at this point in time, I'd say that's the preferred route fo me. :ride
I guess we still gotta see what the rally master(s) provide? (I ain't never been on a rally befo.)

How long does/will it take to get up there from the Bay Area? This is my first BARF rally as well.

Oh I gotta jump in....

Hello from the GOJO. I seems like this will be a great trip for a newbie.

As for the hot tub.....I'm bringing dive gear!! I like staying down for a loooong time. :shocker

Looking forward to meeting everyone,
GOJO

HWY 162 turns into FH7 through the Medocino National Forest and the pavement ends until you get to Alder Springs. Yeah, you guys have fun with that. :laughing

Depends on where yer come'in from, and how much, what kind of riding you wanta do. Around 3 hrs?
You can blast up 80 to Truckee, then take 89 north to Quincy. Scenic, but the roads aren't too challenging.
Depending on snow fall, La Porte and 162 from Orovlle to Quincy totally rock. :banana Or 70 outta Oroville is very beautiful in spring; lots of waterfalls, and the road is some what challenging. (But it also has the most cops & traffic)
Since I'm in the north bay, I'll prolly go up 101 to 162 and take it all da way? Or maybe up to 36, and take that over to Red Bluff then either 162 or 70 to Quincy?
We need to see what the ride masters provide?

Yeah, on my 660 lb dirt bike! :rofl

Excellent :thumbup!
Wanna take 36 over with me?
Depending on the Rally meet-up time and place on May 13, I might take 36 over the afternoon of May 12 and stay in either Red Bluff, Chico or Oroville...
PM sent:)

Yeah, sounds good. I'll put in for May 12 off, and maybe even the 16th, so I can recover :teeth

Wow, guess I best get ass in gear and plan a route.

Wanna meet up and roll with us? We are going to take 36 over :banana, we could meet you either in Oroville or in Fortuna depending on which way you go :thumbup

Hey GOJO, meet BanjoBoy (the poor guy ain't got no car :().

Hey, BB, you need a place to stay in Quincy? Dani, Gojo and myself have a double room with room for one more :party

The way it's typically done is that Tom will send out a rally package to registered participants a week or so before the rally. It will tell you what you need to know. There will be at least two suggested routes - one more touristy, the other more sporting. :teeth Tom will lead one, and I'll lead the other, or you can do your own route. Figure a minimum of about 3-1/2 hours and a little less than 200 miles from ride start to destination if you take one of the direct routes.

If you ride with me, the route won't be direct, but it will be interesting. I've outlined a couple of possibilities, and which one we take will depend upon road conditions and mood of the day. Figure somewhere between 300 and 400 miles, and most of the day. We're here to ride, right? :ride
