I found out that it you want your 1000 to feel like a strong 750, take it up to 4000'+ elevation.

I always want to slap myself after these rallies. I see the user names and think, I want to meet that guy/gal and realize that I probably did but never connected the dots

Oh and I will never ever ever drink beer, wine, and champagne at a rally again.

Yeah, my 650 single sure as hell didn't feel like itself up there in the hills. It just meant that I had to carry more corner speed. No biggie.

Well, considering that I had to actually clutch up the wheelies in 2nd gear, it was definitely down on power.

Even with full luggage, although she didn't want to wheelie (until we got back down to sea level that is), as long as I treated the bike like a 600 and maintained corner speed, there was no real issue.
