It's great! Except for the fact that it looks like the fairing stays broke and the nose is drooping down at a 30-degree angle :laughing

Shades of the past...

I had an '82 GS1000SZ, it took me to LA one night, like a screaming banshee, just under 5 hours I think.
But it was love that twisted the throttle...
 
I could think of at least 20-30 bikes that are uglier than this. KLR, VFR1200F, etc...

Agreed. I guess if you wanted a unique bike on the block, the price assures that you'll be the only one with it. :laughing

If it was 70 pounds lighter i would be down for one. I have a secret boner for the original katana.

But if i was going to get a new bike in this class range the Yami XSR900 would be my go to with the expectation of having to improve the stoppers and squishers.
 
Used to have a 93 katana 600,that bike was bullet proof I rode it more than my bandit 1200.
Sold to this bloke and he didn’t register it fucker,dmv lost my paper work,then they made me make the bike non opp
Lol even know I didn’t own the bike anymore
 
I have not seen one on the road. Would like to ride one I enjoyed riding the GSX-S.

I agree 100% with this sentiment, it's like trying to redo a bad movie!

That said I still have the 1998 Katana that I bought brand new sitting in my garage, LOL.

I rode that bike (my only one) for 18 years if you can believe that! It's still running and must have 150K on it. It needs a new clutch but other than that it still runs pretty well for what it is.

The upgrade in 2016 to the Ninja 1000 was uh, exhilarating, to say the least

I really need to get rid of that Katana though since it's taking up valuable garage space but I can't imagine anyone would want to take it, LOL!

Hey!

I don’t own one but I really like the Katana, original and today’s. I, honestly, thought the plastic-blob katana were a nightmare. Oooof.
 
The porky looking Katana has grown on me. My section sergeant had one, seems like a great freeway bike. It looked really big, like unnecessarily big.
 
I had a 98 Katana 750 and have to say that I got more enjoyment per dollar from that bike than almost anything I have ever owned. Partially because I just didn't know any better, and partially because it was so cheap to maintain, but that bike took me all over CA and the west on many fine adventures.
The funny thing is, I was too timid to join Barf with only that lowly Kat. I lurked for several years before I got a VFR and figured I was worthy.
