Look, there are many things I disagree with with Al Davis...moving the team, certain roster decisions, coaching decisions, etc. But he was an innovator both on and off the field and did a lot for the game. I do hope history will be kinder to Al as time moves on, but as long as the Raider haters and Davis hater still live, it's going to be a long road.

The NFL came out today and declined to hold a supplemental draft for Sorsby. Personally I support this decision. The NFL doesnt need a gambling junkie who was just trying to use the supplemental draft to avoid any real consequence to his behavior. Now the dude can just sit down and try to prove that he is no longer a gambling addict.

I'm not 100% sure if I'm correct but I am under the impression that a college athlete (football) can only become an unrestricted free agent AFTER declaring for the draft and then going undrafted. Sorsby didnt do either of those things. His only chance to make an NFL roster at this point would be to wait until the 2027 draft, declare for it, and then wait and see. 2026 is now closed to him as I understand it.

@mikev , I 100% agree with you. It’s an extremely frustrating thing about sports and entertainment, people get passes if they’re good. He then left Cincinnati to sign with Texas Tech, and Cincinnati is suing him for breach of their NIL and asking him to return 1 million dollars. Apparently his NIL with the marketing agency, Texas Tech and or Cincinnati puts him in like the top five NIL earners for 2026, but I dont think that will be actual earned income because Cincinnati will most likely win their case and Texas Tech obviously wont be paying him anything now that he wont be playing a single down for them.

The clawback provision for NIL is still running through the courts but man if they do allow them to clawback the years of transferring every 6 months are over. Which would be amusing.
