This will be an ongoing thread as I get to ride the bike. So far all the way from the shop to my office and then home.
First thanks to Jose, Dalton and Brad at the Motorcafe for the pleasurable buying experience. Took videos of Jose showing me the electronic ropes with the buttons and such. I imagine it will take a while to get those down.
I like the new location and digs. Very open and clean. What you see from the street changes dramatically when you go inside. (I should have taken pics).
3rd bike from the Motorcafe in 10 years. All Multistrada's.
Jose got it paired with my phone and the onboard GPS systems. It was a bit funny... "Want to receive calls?" No. "Want to listen to music?" No. "Want to upload your contacts?" No.... I just want to ride!
Thanks much for treating my wife and I so well. She enjoyed the experience and hung the whole time!
So... 600 miles to break it in. Since it was a short ride very simple observations.
1. Handlebars are a bit different and seem to invite you to lean into the bike in a more sporting way.
2. Seat allows a bit more movement than the '15 = Good.
3. It is damn quiet.
4. It feels lighter in general (no twisties so to be confirmed).
5. The front brake felt easier to pull and I am not sure about that, but one finger was enough. I used two and typically I use 3 when really hauling the mail. More to come for sure.
6. The motor felt smoother. No big chugging of the twin. Need some miles before I can comment further.
7. Footpegs are good. They adjusted the position up and back and to my happiness I found them good for my titanium knee!
In September I am doing a 2000m trip so I figure that will be the final chapter of this story.
Stay tuned if you are interested.
