Starbucks in front of Costco in Santa Rosa @10

March 10th will be a 1 year since my good friend Ricky V. passed away in a motorcycle accident. This year his family would like to have a bike run in his honor. I have spoke with his family, and they will be up at the lake in hopes to see lots of support from his friends. Let’s make this the biggest turn out ever. I know a lot of us have to work or have family obligations, but this sacrifice is really important to all his family and friends. So please make the effort and spend the day there not just a lap but come out and make a few loops and spend sometime. His family would really appreciate making arrangements to show up and ride.

The time and place: Starbucks in SR. near Costco @ 10am. We will shoot across the freeway to Calistoga and up 128 to Healdsburg, from there we will gas up and hit Skaggs. His family we will be out there at noon.

If you are a member of this site you probably have a bike, so please load up and tell your friends and come out and make this a great day to remember. There is no reason we cant get a few hundred bikes out there. The bicyclist does it, and they even get the helicopter with CHP escort.

P.S. Im not very good at putting these things together, so, if anybody has some thoughts or ideas we would love some help thanks.
Things we could use.
-We could use some ice chests filled with bottled water for the riders,or maybe a local cycle shop could put up a canopy at the look out point, and pass out some bottled water.
- Maybe we could get someone to BBQ at the Marina or look at point. I can get some local company’s to donate some burgers.
These are just some ideas. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks

A word of advice: you're dealing with a whole lot of strangers with short attention spans who aren't going to bother to read/absorb this thread.

I couldn't seem to find what city your address is in, but go and edit your first post, and in large, bold letters add:

Ricky V. Memorial Ride

Saturday,
March 10, 2007 at 10am

3206 Woolsley Road
???, California
(link to map)

Also, ask one of the mods to change the title of the thread to indicate the event, date/time and city. Something like:

Please Read: Ricky V. Memorial Ride 3/10 at 10 AM in ???

so that people who can't even be bothered to click the link will know when/where the event is.

The more clear you make the date, time and location, the more people you'll get to notice and show up. Good luck, and sorry about your friend.

Hey boys,

I've added this to Curve Unit's master calendar so it will show up on our main page when the date approaches.

The girls and I were very sad to hear about your friends passing last year, and we fully support events such as this.

I would recommend posting on other mc forums as well. We tend to roll deep for fallen riders, so the more you spread out the information, the larger audience you will ultimately reach.

I would also recommend that you call some of the local bike shops in the Windsor area. Through my experiences, I can almost guarantee that if they have the space to accommodate a large group, they'll be more than happy to participate.

Good luck!

Ok I spoke with Law, Ricky's wife, she and the family are going to host the BBQ out at the entrace to the lake. 2 things
-She would like to make it a charitable event. She is going to donate the money to the Redwood Gospel Ministries. I didnt get the name, but somebody is going to match her donations dollar for dollar. So a small donations should be easy to cary on the motorcycle.
-next she needs some help cooking, if maybe we could take turns, then we could still ride. I cant cook worth beans, and Im planning in lots of riding.
-they will be at the lake at noon. She wanted to het an idea of how many people would be there, So maybe we could get a head count. Thanks again and see you on Saturday.

Also was thinking it might be easier to meet in SR at Starbucks. (costco)at 10am
