Trying to get an enclosed trailer. I *think* I can get by with a 5x10, and it would fit better in my storage location better than a 6x10. But I'm wondering if I'm just going to want more width. I don't want to get a new trailer only to have to get another one. But I might also be thinking about this too hard. My plan is to put my bike on one side and I should have enough room to walk around it.

Does anyone have an experience here with these sizes so as to render a good opinion? Anyone have any pics of a bike loaded into a 5' wide trailer? I've been searching the entire interwebs and haven't found any good ones...

I had a 6x10 and it fit 2 race bike and gear, stands, etc. I don't think id go smaller because the bars were about 4" between each other and the walls when I had them both in together.

I rented a 5x10 for a track day recently. I'll be renting the 6x10 next time. But that was for two bikes.

The closer a trailer wheel width matches the vehicle wheel width, the better off you are.

That would probably be 5ft for me (the overall width would be about 6ft). I have a Wrangler Unlimited, and it's about 6ft wide. A 5ft trailer would be about the width of my cabin, and it certainly would make it easier to see behind me using the mirrors. Hmm...

Thanks for this. I was contemplating the same thing and this made up my mind for me.

I have a 6x10. I wouldn't go any smaller than that. I typically only have 1 bike in there but the times I've had 2 it has been a bit of a hassle and pretty tight with all the tools, fuel, extras... stuff like that. Even getting it balanced was a bit of a pain. I can't imagine doing it with someone narrower.

I'd go 6X10 also.
If you have to go 5X10 then maybe one forward and one backwards.

Whatever you get, go to HArbor Freight and invest in some roll over chalks.

Slightly off topic .. is there a "good" time of the year to buy a new trailer ?

Would make sense to wait until end of year like buying a new car but from what I've seen, seems not much discount even on specimens one or two model years old.

I have a platform trailer with a locking gear box, hauls 3 dirty bikes or 2 streeties.

$750?

I had a trailer made locally. 6x10. If I were to do it over, 7x12.
The cool thing about a trailer, is you have the ability to take on a riding partner. Safer to go with a friend in case you have a problem at the track.
Split the cost of gas and hotel rooms.
