I was making a joke that always crops up on the beer threads. I love all beers, for the most part. Although I just can't bring myself to try a peanut butter stout.
Scrimshaw is one of my go-to's right now. It's "mainstream" according to the beer snobs, but idgaf
OMG, dude, i only used my little stovetop turkish coffee pot with the coffee you sent. sublime. i would have never wasted it on cold brew. besides, it was long gone before the ‘cold brew incident’.Umm, I hope the Turkish coffee I sent you wasn't a culprit? On my knees, praying it wasn't so......
I’m going to open a fine bottle of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and watch some TV.
I remember when I turned 21, that's all I drank for two years.
The bottles looked cool, that's all I knew. Another dude in the store smirked and told me to get a real beer. When I was 14 in Connecticut I talked my mom into buying me a sixer of Piels Real Draft! When I turned 21, the first case I bought was Rolling Rock. The bottles looked cool, that's all I knew. Another dude in the store smirked and told me to get a real beer.
I'm so glad IDGAF what random people think about me. It's powerful.
Scrimshaw is a tasty beer for sure.Scrimshaw is one of my go-to's right now. It's "mainstream" according to the beer snobs, but idgaf
When you are coming to Solid Ground, check out Geartooth, also in Placerville. They do barbeque and beer and both are great. Tiny little family-run place where the dad smokes the meat, the mom serves the food, and the two sons brew the beer.I am interested in Craft Beer / Breweries with BBQ
Just had great beer from Alameda Brewing Company @ Boonville Brewfest 2026 (my understanding this is on Park Street)
The brewer is Justin Green and definitely has great beers.
The brewery is next to Fikscue Craft BBQ (Best true BBQ in Alameda)
The line starts a few hours early and it appears you can get beer while in line for the BBQ for Alameda Brewery Company
Craft Beer and BBQ are a great combination….
I am going to list a few places that are currently serving Craft Beer and BBQ that are on my summer plans for visiting.
Solid Ground is one of them..
Urban Roots Sacramento
Most brewers have great food and or food trucks this provides a great alternative to the restaurant scene.
Probably many more

You can say that but I will disagree with you. If an IPA is masking poor process or mistakes, it is going to taste like shit. I have brewed a lot of beer, and mostly IPAs. In fact I have won 2nd place for my IPAs at the State Fair and at the World Cup of Beer. The reason I didn't get 1st place was due to very small issues or mistakes that the judges absolutely picked up on. I have brewed probably a couple hundred batches and can easily taste mistakes in IPAs.I remember when I turned 21, that's all I drank for two years.
Most IPA's are shit anyway. Just an easy way to mask one's mistake when brewing.

I applaud your devotion to bottom tier type of beer.

I'm just tired of EVERYONE in the fucking world having some type of IPA. It's not the only beer type in existence.

I recently had a chance to spend some time in Germany. I drank a lot of fantastic beer. None of it was an IPA. Like I said, I enjoy most, if not all types of beer.I applaud your devotion to bottom tier type of beer.
