Sold my 1997 in 2006 to a fellow member.
Lindemann did the front end and springs on both ends, Ohlins rear shock, Power Commander, 185/60 rear tire, convertibles.
Handled and fueled well after all that.
Replaced it with a DRZ 400SM because of Sonoma County back roads.
Never crashed either but before the mods TLS gifted me a tankslapper from hell.

I have a 98 that I picked up super cheap. Lots of parts robbed off it so I've been gathering things for it. I almost have everything I need including a Bitubo shock and the hard to find steering damper mount. Almost ready to bring it up here and start on it

UPDATE! - I've been working on it and, unbelievably have it running. I was fitting the air box the other day and, after sitting for several years and not leaking a drop, the thermostat housing decided it was time to retire. Now waiting for the new sealed thermostat.
Question - has anyone ran Pod filters or run with no intake tubes on the stock air box ? Inquiring minds want to know.
